Can anyone tell me how to get my temp sensors on my A7V333 working with Gkrellm? At the moment it just says no sensors detected, but they used to work fine in MBM and VIA HM.

I know I should just go to the Gkrellm website but for some reason I can't reach it on my ISP :(

Kernel temp sensors

Hi,

don't know much about GKrellm, but I assume this works using the kernel LN-sensors?

If so, and from what you;ve said you've changed motherboards, you'll need to recompile the LM-sensors modules. Then add the new modules to be loaded next time you boot! There;s a couple of scripts with the LM-sensors source code to help you do this.

(although saying this, I had lm-sensors wortking perfectly using 2.4.18. But for the life of me I cannot get them to work using 2.4.19).

Cheers

Lm-sensors compilation

Hi,

thanks for that link.

I've followed those instructions (more or less the same text doc comes with the source package). But I always get the following error message!

make: *** No rule to make target `rrd.h', needed by `prog/sensord/rrd.rd'. Stop.

Obviously I''m missing some header, or something else. What i don't know!

I've not really spent much time trying to solve it though. Using kernel 2.4.18, my cpu temp never really went above 50degC. Well apart from one time when Pan went completely insane, launched gazillions of processes, and pegged the cpu at 100% ( I was asleep). No harm done though, even though the temp was well over 60deg. Perhaps this shows that my cooling setup is not perhaps perfect.

(note cpu is duron 750 o/c to 1.0)

I'll get around to getting it fixed sometime soon!!

Cheers

hi guys,

there was a guide posted on this forum ages ago about how to setup hardware monitoring using lm_sensors - if its any use i can dig it out an post it for you.

I dont think that it will still be here after the nuke :(

I'll mail Yoss and ask him though

Would appreciate a guide, I only started using linux last week so there's a lot I don't know yet though.

Having said that, I'm already installing gentoo on a second machine to be a seti cruncher/samba server :)
