Personally I'd never buy my glasses from the net. You don't know how they'll look until you try them. Best to go to an opticians.

I used glasses direct http://www.glassesdirect.co.uk and got a pair of rimless quiksilver glasses for £85 which was under half that I'd pay in an opticians. They fit perfect, you just input your prescription details on their site along with your 'PD' (pupillary distance - so that your lenses sit slap bang in line with your eyes) I didn't have my PD and just left it at default.

There was also an option to return them for a refund if they didnt fit or I didnt like them, I didnt use this though cos they fit perfectly.

So in summary, you lose the convenience of getting them fitted in a shop but can save a bomb...the only hassle being mine took just under 2 weeks to arrive.

I have used http://www.irisoptical.co.uk/ in the past. They send you a load to try and then you can send them back for them to glaze.

How are you not in a position too walk to an opticians. Surely there is one bear by. If not, get a bus?!

Fly to the mainland via helicopter.

usually go if already visiting.

I'm not visiting for a few months, but need glasses soon.

Did you see the problem I have? About not being able to visit an opticians?
My sarcastic comment was because you both ignored the "visiting isn't an option" remark.
