glasto 2013

Annoying flags! Didn't Leeds and Reading go so far as banning them now?

If you went to Glasto, you'd spend half your time trying to angle a view between the flags. There's nothing more annoying as a spectator at a festival than this.

There are a few things- girls going mental in front of you. A girl in front of you decides to get on her mate's shoulders. Basically ban girls from festivals.

It was bad enough seeing them on the tv and they'd drive me nuts if I was there. They definitely should be banned.

I just got back from Glastonbury was a brilliant weekend. Highlights for me were the Correspondents (that went mental given it was only 7pm), Skrillex, **** Buttons, Dizzie Rascal. Went along to see the Stones but the speakers on our side weren't working so was really quiet, only listened to the fist couple of songs.

Flags don't bother me much, you see some pretty funny ones and normally they are high enough not to massively obscure the view. It's the people on shoulders that annoy me more.
The have static flags setup anyway at Glasto so might be a bit hypocritical to ban them.
Bans are pretty meaningless at Glasto anyway, e.g. Gazebos are banned, sound systems are banned etc, but you still find them on the campsites with the 'authorities' turning a blind eye.

I quite enjoyed the stones, it's just a shame that they didn't show anything from the first half of the set i.e. Gimme Shelter and Paint It, Black.

Just got back. Knackered. Thought the Stones were pretty mediocre to be honest, couldn't really hear too much of them despite only being about a quarter of the way up the field.

Really enjoyed Dinosaur Jr., Chic, Local Natives, The XX and Of Monsters and Men. Bit disappointed I missed Frightened Rabbit and Tame Impala, but genuinely surprised I didn't have one hangover despite drinking my own body weight each day!

Just got back myself! The stones I felt were very good, was halfway up the field just behind the second speaker row behind the sound tent and the quality was brilliant, loads of stage presence and just a very good show.

Stood around the same place as you toshj for the artic monkeys and it sounded awful, but I think that they are awful too....

As far as the rest of the festival goes Beady Eye's little secret set was good, probably for the two Oasis songs but what can I say? The Hives front man also put on a very good show straight after. Smashing Pumpkins' set was utterly brilliant even with a cover of Bowie's Space Odditiy! Mumford and Sons did a great set to end the festival with their closing cover of the Beatles With A Little Help From My Friends inviting Vampire Weekend, the Vaccines, The Staves and First Aid Kit being a real highlight of the festival for me. Foals were good, so were Kenny Rogers, Billy Bragg, Haim, checked out Deap Valley but honestly wasn't that impressed. Saw quite a few others but my memory is failing me.

Oh and the shower when I got back was probably one of the best ever.

I gave up on watching the stones set as the quality was so poor. They really should give up before it becomes too much of a joke. Listening to some of the other bands brought home just how average they are live these days.
