I've been meaning to post about this for a few days, I was at Glentress Forest last weekend for a spot of riding and thought I should mention just how excellent it is.

Glentress is one of the 7 Stanes mountain bike parks in the South of Scotland, and it's one of the best places in Britain to ride. It gets featured every couple of issues in MBUK as it holds a load of competitions and has some excellent trails.

It's only about 25 miles South of Edinburgh, and I can wholeheartedly recommend it. Is there anyone on here that fancies heading down there for a ride (cycle) sometime?

Stop off at innerleithen a few miles along the road from glentress.Well,if your into downhill and that like.

Glentress is a great laugh, bit of a treck up to the top of the hill but well worth it on the way down. Black route for the win!!!! :D

Did the double black secret stuff last weekend, they're excellent trails. There's some mad extended north shore stuff in a really dense forest. As you're heading up to Spooky Wood, where you get to the wall and you have to turn right and almost back on yourself (where the sign stating the viewpoint is 1/2 a mile away), follow the wall to the right (on the far side of the wall) until you get to the opening in the forest (which is on your left). Crazy stuff, really technical and nigh on impossible if it's been wet.

Done a lot of the double diamond stuff with the rock section but sadly the other week when my mates all went up and went to that secret part i was stuck working a 10-2 shift in bloody halfords bikehut!!

Well gutted, that was the first time a whole load of them went up. Say 15 people in the group :(

I rode Glentress before Spooky Wood was built and that bit was rutted as anything. :D central now though. A mate of mine lives in Innerleithen, so handy for popping up for a weekend :D

I went up camping near Dumfries last year, I would have took my bike if I had known about Mabie, its bloody nice up there, I will have to get my sister husband and his mates to go up there in one of there vans.
