It was very poorly organised, resulting in an absolute farce on the Sat night!

It's ended up going a bit like the Edinburgh Festival, where it's turned its head on what it originally was, in favour of just being a money making exercise...

Well if it 2007 is compared to 2006's event then you can see that the atrocious weather played a part in it. 2006 saw sun whereas this year there were floods all around the area weeks before hand, my town even was without water for 2 weeks so the cleanest shower i got was at Global Gathering!

I went with a huge crowd of us and we were camping, had an absolutely fantastic time, even in comparison to the year before, i guess it depends how you coped with all the rain and mud, we werent fussed whatsoever as it was worse back home!

It was the weather that spoilt it. 2006 was the dogs, awesome weather all weekend. 2007 was spoilt by the floods and the stupendous wait time to get in.

It just seemed the entire organisation was done on a budget? 3-4hr queue to get in due to lack of people 'processing'.

Messages from GG that the weather hadn't inpacked the event at all, yet large areas of the camping sites were under water.

No/little attempt to actually organise the camping - ie; More proper walk ways.

No attempt to organise the main even - ie: No proper walk ways.

I could go on, but I suspect the event has simply turned into get as much money in as few days as possible... I'm surprised they haven't already started doing Sun night as well TBH!

ps: We had drug dealers wondering around the camp site, with visitor bands on, and security weren't the slightest bit interested (when it was reported). Given how much theft has gone on at times, this was again alarming!

I've been once, and it was pretty good, but me and my mate had a very bad experience with the "security" team that put a downer on the whole weekend for us. So yes I agree with regard to the poor organisation. I also got angry at the prices too - I mean, seriously... £5... five whole pounds for a freakin' burger? It was disgraceful.

Last year, they didn't allow drink into the main arena. So you saw hundreds of people having to throw away their drinks onto the floor, to then go into the arena and simply buy replacements...

Yeah, I know. It just makes you think that the experience is geared around the organisers lining their pockets that making it as enjoyable as possible for the goers.

However, I did get to see the Daft Punk set, which was nothing short of incredible and pretty much eclipsed all the little annoyances. :p

I went to the first three. Then I found the Bulldog Bash. Never looked back.

im gunna go this year i think . 06 was bloomin awesome

and digitalism, erol alkan , justice, daft punk all back to back made it the best weekend of my life

I did 03 and 04.

After seeing people get randomly attacked by chavvy gangster idiots in the car park the morning after, I decided not to bother going back. That Hardcore/DnB arena attracts the dregs of the clubbing world. A bunch of people got mugged last year, including 2 of my mates, in the middle of a dance floor!

Since then I changed my yearly festival to Dance Valley, going 05, 06, and 07, and it made me realise that UK promoters couldn't organise their way out of a paper bag.

I refuse to go anymore, I went every year since it started, which was 2001 i belive, up until 2005 it was the best festival i had ever been too, then they introduced the 2 day event with camping, and they became money grabbers, we went to the first ever camping event and it was very poorly organised and ended up in us going home early as they screwed us over. We havnt been back since.

yeh the floods messed it up for 07, but the godskitchen tent was awesome. I avoid the d&b tent cause of the stereotypes that go there

In 2006 I spent most of my time in the dnb tent and had no problems at all. There were quite a few dodgy buggers there though. I had a good weekend.

The Glade festival puts it to shame though. Better music and an infinitely better crowd.

I knew you would pop up with your DV posts :p

Makes me jealous eveytime i see the pics / vids

Andy

All it takes is a trip over the Channel to open ones eyes ;)

Shame I can't go this year :(

It would cost about £250 all in all, but I've got 2 weeks in South Africa in April, plus a fair bit of debt I am trying to clear.
