gloosy vs matt screen info ?

I think it's just down to personal preference tbh.

My laptop has a glossy screen and is fine for DVDs, in fact people have commented how good the display is. My monitor is matt and imo is just as good with DVDs.

Glossy might mean you get more reflections in some cases but I can't say I've noticed it myself, not to any extent that it bothers me anyway.

if its not bright as hell where you watching i would say gloss.. the colours are extremely vivid and the reflections are only really noticeable if the screen in black, But saying that theres probably not much in it. Like shoot1st says its down to personal preference. Id recommend checking them out in the flesh. :)

I would matte all the way now but then thats personal preference. Gloss seems to attract allsorts of smudges and reflections, it just reminds me of the old CRT monitors - now I dont have to keep reaching for the curtains or something just to watch a film without getting glare.

It is a question of personal taste/preference. There are countless topics on this matter on diverse forums. To each his own. All discussions regarding which one is better are irrelevant.

On a monitor I would always say matte as glossy is meant to be slightly better outdoors - where your monitor will never, ever go (I would wager).

I'm in a fairly dark room and the glossy panel on the HZ24Wi did my head in (especially as I had the original 24W matte model before).
