Glossy Shooters with good Single Player Campaign

Singularity looks a bit dated but with so many recommendations I think I'll need to pick it up.

I had a little play with Borderlands 2 last night, but it's just too dated looking. Visuals are a big part of the enjoyment for me.

I'll probably have another play through of FC3 and BioShock Infinite as it's been long enough since I've played them.

It seems there's a bit of a shortage of new games of this type? I also find COD games difficult to get into as I just don't like the franchise.

I just realised how fussy I am!

Far Cry 4 gets my reccomendation. Yeah it's essentially 3 with a new coat of paint and a little chopper but still, one of the most endearing games I've played in ages. Always seem to go back it.

One more recommendation for Singularity, keep meaning to get it again having played it years ago on the 360. It didn't do anything revolutionary or different, but still a great game. Reminded me of Bioshock crossed with Fallout/Metro 2033.

Another vote for alien isolation. Technically not a pew pew shooter, but an incredible game and graphically excellent. Was in my top 3 games of the year

I hate survival horror and that game in particular. Endlessly repeating the same scenario over and over because the save game facility sets you back miles from where you made your little mistake? No thanks! :D

Hitman ( the last one was decent graphics wise ), the earlier ones might not be so glossy !

Max Payne 3 , Far Cry 3/4, Batman and Assasins Creed all pretty to look at

Also, the first 2 Bioshock still hold up well graphics wise ( You mentioned Bioshock Infinite)

Fair enough! It seems like we have different tastes, so I'll leave you to it.

Would pop in a plug for Deus Ex HR. Glossy in a noirish style, not a strict shooter as you need to conserve resources at least until you build up your character or can go totally OP on the second playthrough.

Can anyone actually figure out how to get Bulletstorm to work on W10? GFWL is an absolute nightmare.

If you can it's one of the better looking Unreal 3 games and so so so fun.

RAGE would be another good shout in my opinion. Best sounding guns of any game.

You've mentioned Crysis 2 and 3 in your OP but have you played Crysis 1? Possibly the best single player FPS game imo, in spite of the alien levels. Crysis warhead was also pretty great as well.

You're fussy like me OP lol.

I'm not a great fan of anything too linear and repetitive like a lot of the cookie-cutter FPS games, and I have zero time for anything with aliens or wizards/orks type of game.

It's hard to find decent single player games that aren't too linear, I like Fallout series, GTA and Far Cry, apart from those and the few racing games I find it hard to get into anything else.

Not sure what your pc is, but borderlands 2 has some of the best graphics period, there meant to be shaded, i have most of the latest games and it still one of my fav's, oh and you must play the first Metro, so much better than the second one.

Spec is in signature, mate. I think I need to look past the graphics with these classics. I've picked up Dishonored again under recommendation from this thread and have been really enjoying it.

The funny thing is, I haven't had to buy any of these games as I already own them! I just haven't gave them a chance. In the case of Dishonored, I bought that years ago when I played with game controllers but now that I'm a confirmed PC convert from PS3 I always play first person K&M and third person with controller. The game play flows so much better.

Anyway, cheers for the suggestions it's got me working my way through my Steam library.
