just be careful. if you have not been definitely diagnosed as having coeliac disease then altering your diet before further tests (ogd/biopsy) may result in a false negative test result i.e. you really are coeliac, but because you altered diet before further tests the bowel lining returned to normal and has given a false normal result when tested
my other half has a gluten intolerance and has done for years. Before meeting her I had no idea how much food actually contains gluten before I started checking the packets! also... at the price of some things in the free from section in super markets!
We've found that gluten free pasta tends to fall apart (at least the tubes do) though is still pretty nice. She does make her own muesli for breakfast as well as eating the "Rude Health" puffed rice. I believe she has been eating some of sainsburys el cheapo rice pops though these do contain some barley gluten, she has said she can manage a little bit of gluten before starting to feel off everything.
As for bread, home made bread with a breadmaker seem's to be the winner here. It does take a bit more effort but tastes much nicer than most GF things you can buy. Her dad makes various different types of bread from using spelt flour and also from the Doves Farm gluten free flour you can get.
Out of curiousity, has anyone found or tried any gluten free fajita wraps?
Sounds stupid but due to the corn subsidies lots of stuff is made with cornflour rather than wheatflour (according to several people when I was over there). I had a great month over there, thinks like wras were made with corn as standard and cheerio style cereals were made with corn rather than the mix of oats and wheat etc. They even had corn shreddies! All at the normal price rather than the overpriced stuff.
