Gmail hacked?

Sounds like a good start Cheetah.

Thought it might just be worth mentioning the couple of reasons I sided with KeePass though. One being that you don't have to copy and paste your password all the time, there's a keyboard shortcut (CTRL+V) that will tab back to the last active window and automatically type out all your info.

Also, I found KeePass was handy for storing other password - so you don't have to fire up Firefox. I.e. I have my licence details for certain things in there as well as Wifi key's etc.

In addition you get KeePass apps for most mobile devices so even when i'm not connected to the interest I can still get my Wifi password for a friend off my phone.

Like you keeping them sync is obviously an issue but I use dropbox to do that. I just copied an installation of KeePass to my dropbox folder which means anywhere I have net access I can download dropbox and my password database.

Anyway, what you've listed above is fine but here's what I have done for my setup:

- Strong password for internet banking that I can remember
- Different strong password for KeePass database that I can remember
- Different strong password for email account for everything I register with. This is so I can go through the password recovery options should I loose access to my KeePass database in any way.
- Different strong password for my DropBox account so that I can log in anywhere and download KeePass with it's database.

Hope that helps!

Hi RoyMi6, what application do you use to access your keepass database from your mobile? I didn't know that you could do this, and it could be quite handy as I'm using my mobile on the internet more and more now.

For Android, KeePassDroid is excellent.

There is also Java & iPhone versions listed here, so you should be able to get it running on most mobiles.
