gmail invites?

If anybody would like me to set them up a US Gmail account (rather than Googlemail), let me know. I've already about a dozen of them for folks on this forum. :)

I have a GoogleMail account currently under the email address...

[email protected]

I want to have my name as [email protected]

Could you send me an invite to...

[email protected]

For a US Gmail account!

Thank you, sorry to be a pain, Steve :)

thank you Doug!

but when I am entering my desired login name, it says @googlemail.com at the end, and this can not be changed :S

any ideas?

Steve :)

Go through a US proxy, GMail is given to US people, googlemail to UK because of some firm had already copyrighted gmail before google got there. They wouldnt sell it for a sensible amount of money, so google changed what its called in the UK :)

That would be why! How do I go through a US proxy then?

Could you help me!

Steve :)

***gmail just sounds so much better!***

I dont have time right now to find exactly what you need, but a quick google for "free US proxy servers" or "free US proxies" will get you lists upon lists of proxy servers. Use one of these with a browser capable of using proxy, IE, Firefox, Opera 99% of them all. Then just load up the shortcut in the invite again through the proxy. Thus it thinks youre in the US and gives you a nice gmail.com address :)
