Hello

I was thinking of organising a works day out to http://goape.co.uk/ anyone here done it before?

is it good, how long does it last for? do you get to go around more than once

thanks

You get one run of the course, takes as long as it takes, the more people their are, the longer you will wait at each section.

I enjoyed it. I can't remember but I think it took about 45 mins to get round. Some of the sections are actually pretty scary!
45 mins to get round?! I think I was there for a good few hours - as krooton said, the more people there are then the longer you have to wait.

You don't get to go around more than once, no.

Did it once, never again absolutely terrifying.

Not the heights, but doing it with my son and being responsible for checking his gear and then watching him fling himself off a platform on a zipline.

Closed and opposed ^^.

I did it in 2007, can't remember which one it was exactly it was South London-ish so I think it might be the Bracknell Swinley Forest site.

I did it with a number of people from work as a day out and it turned out to be a lot of fun. You have to do a mandatory safety training course, then after that you are free to go off and do the sections of the main course in whatever order you want (it gets progressively harder/higher).

There was no time limit and you could carry on doing it again for as many times as you liked... however, most people don't really bother doing that so its not really an issue.

The best bits are defiantly the rope drop things where you just have to jump off, it the engages and stops you falling and swings you into a net. Then the big zip lines are really good fun.

I actually did this very recently in wendover woods in herts.

I was with two kids as the misses and I are there registered carers for day trips etc.

Really enjoyable, but as others have said can be quite scary in places. Make sure that you dress for the occasion in shorts or comfortable trousers with GOOD shoes or boots.

Also a jumper/raincoat in the car just in case the weather changes!

Most of all be safe, have fun, and enjoy it! It really is a good laugh!

Done it twice at Dalby and Grizedale - highly recommended but only took an hour max to get round, included doing the training course. That's with 2 people.
Make sure you go to a decent course, hopefully there's one near you. And do something for the rest of the day ;)

Went to the one at Grizedale in the Lake District with a few mates. I'm absolutely terrified of heights, and only managed the first 3-4 and had to pass on the last two. It's the unclipping and clipping yourself back on bit that did it for me 0.0

Did it for my Bday few years back, it's alright, but when you think about it, it's like that South Park ep, same thing over & over just a bit longer and higher.

I think they aren't all created equal are they?

As I've cycled past the Wendover Woods one a number of times and it looks tiny compared to the one I went to.

Loved it when I went! Came back with a few bruises though :p (Mainly from swinging and having to grab the net, which had some big knots in)

Can't remember how long it took us though...

had a great time at the one in Exeter (Holden Forest). Its great if there are a few of you but when there is a large group you spend so much time waiting.

done the course a Delamere, which was awesome.

Only advice I can give is dont try and land gracefully from a zip line, you will end up going backwards with clothes full of bark/mulch :D

Great fun though, some of it was really quite challenging, some less so. I found the first proper 'leap' to be the worst (a 8ft ish jump to a net, only small) as its the first one, after that it was much easier!
