Go Karting For the first time.

i done it last year for the first time, only regret is that i didnt floor it.

Advice for a first timer? Don't get scared and go really slowly, sure you can crash but you can't really have any serious injuries. Just go for it.

Just don't stick your leg out to "stop" yourself when crashing, I talked to one of the marshalls when I last went and apparently a few people have done this and broken their leg :p

Just the basic driving tips really; slow in and fast out. Hit the apex properly. And brake in a straight line as much as possible.. the tyres are tiny so don't ask them to do two things at once!

If its indoors on most corners you do NOT need to slow down or brake, the karts have some mean traction aslong as you have the muscle you can get em around most (tho maybe not all) corners fullspeed. Outdoor tracks is a bit different story.

Clipping the apex again is only really needed on outside track, on inside ones aslong as you can physically hold the line pretty much any line is so close it makes no difference.

After 50 or so laps you will be physical exhausted if its your first time.

You can, you just have to be very unlucky to come out badly hurt.

Last time I went karting was 7 years ago, someone spun off so they stopped the race as he'd taken out the little tyre barrier they'd put up for the short circuit, I stood up to stretch my legs but one berk decided to carry on full throttle straight into the back of me. :(

yep drifting is what I did and what cost me lots of time!

still was a laugh
bit sore today in the hands but not enough to trouble my daily routine

good laugh all in all it was an indoor track third mile a lap with a 75m straight
carts all had double 240cc engines some of them were different to others
the pain on the hands was intense and I felt really suffocated wearing that helmet!

the guy that came out on top was exceptional he had great handling and when he went around corners he didn't seem troubled at all. In a straight line one guy almost had him but he had to settle for 2nd.

totally different from driving on the road though. I was a bit worried when I jumped into my car - left foot is for the clutch ONLY! lol
