Thinking of going go karting in London. The place must be accesible by the tube.

Not really sure what to go for:

Indoor or outdoor?

Petrol or electric?

Can anyone reccomend any places?

Not sure about london. I know there are a few near me, Lakeside and Brentwood. These are both out door tracks running petrol karts.

Another big one is Rye house, not too sure if they rent karts though there.

All of the above are access by train from London.

outdoor > indoor and petrol > electric.

Agree, especially on the second point.

I like the ones that start and finish indoors and have an outdoor section, or vice versa. It's exciting going outdoors then coming back inside for a covered section, kind of like the tunnel at Monaco (sort of!).

outdoor and petrol

indoor tracks are usually too short and have bad surfaces

electric ? doesn't even bare thinking about

Definitly petrol, last indoor track my kart just skidded round every corner. It was like the floor had been polished. Having said that it was incredibly fun going round all the corners sideways hahah :P Though i image it wasn't helped by my lack of skill.

:EDIT:

O and i beleive im banned also for nearly running the man down because i didn;'t relise it was the last lap and was in race mode overtaking my best friend on the last corner to the finnish line to find him standing on the finnish line. Yeah i never seen someone swear at me so much lol. Funny thing was, i couldn't hear it coz i ahd the helmet on and i took it off and said "pardon" and it made him sooo much worse... my bad eh?

Not near a tube station but Streatham is easy enough to get to by bus or overland train. By far the best in London I've experienced:

I went here for my first Go Karting session and loved it so much that I was back there 2 weeks later.

I would advise going for the Grand Prix option as its so much fun, with qualifying/track position laps and then podium/trophie awards at the end :)

This place is indoor and with petrol karts too :)

one of the tracks i went on in france had the 250cc 2 stroke racing karts for hire. but it was quite expensive and required a bit more skill :p so opted out for the lawn mower engine ones lol.
