-Snapped off my coccyx and got air ambulanced

I shivered.

Oh my god that must have hurt.

From experience of my skateboarding days, when on a thin beam I was boardsliding, with my body facing the way i was going, then it went down a little, and the board slipped out, me backwards, pole -> coccyx. It was insane pain. Couldn't walk that day :p Had to get a lift and lie down.

Snapping it.

I would die of pain.

Damaged tendon in my shoulder playing rugby.
Broke wrist holding a guy's arms behind his back in yr6 while girls put makeup on his face(he was an ugly sister in the school play of cinderella).
Was doing the thing where you pull their arms behind their back and stick one of your arms through to lock them there. We fell over, his arms went forward and snapped my wrist over his spine :p

Didn't realise (only one bone) until the end of the day. School nurse said it was badly bruised

Had a horrendous stomach ache that was incorrectly diagnosed as appendicitis. Nearly had it out, but luckily they were full, so couldn't operate until the morning. In the morning I was fine.

Apparently the cartilige on the back of both my kneecaps could be likened to "a mirror.. if you smashed it" according to my physio :/

Had quite a few problems with my knees as a result of rugby.

Cracked my skull so many times when I was >5. Not good. Was really quite clumsy.

Ran through a single sheet glass window in my house(all of them were replaced after the event :D) Got loads of cuts etc. When I was 3.

Nearly broke my jaw on my birthday when I was 5. Ran into the house with a present (the stilts that are like buckets). Tripped on the step and landed face first on the stilts in their wrapping paper.

I am 16 now so not doing too bad on the injury front for my age ^_^

Yeahs mines 6months now, just 3 months after the fitment. I think mines set to shock around 190. The pacing effect has gone now after they re programmed it. I think i woke up one night in hospital before the ICD was fitted and the lowest recording over the sleep period was 37bpm.

Have you got Brugada too then?

They did all the tests, including injecting me with a drug called ajmaline to see if it would induce any abnormal results on my ECG. It was negative, so I've had a blood sample sent for DNA testing. At the moment, it is inconclusive. My mother works for the top professors in the UK and they can't even find the cause. All they have said that it is most likely brugada, but they cannot say exactly as there has been no positive results which suggest so.

How about you? :( How are you coping with the operation site? Mine has a small scar and is still healing, still feels sore from time to time.

By the way, when you go thru the airport security, do you tell them that you can't go thru the metal detector and have to be hand searched? That's what I do. Although, I'd prefer to just go thru, less hassle, but I was told that they can interfere.

Im 24 with Brugada but my twin brother (ident) is clear. Awaiting genetics department to get to more for tests. My scar is pretty sensitive at times and seemed to have a trapped tendon after the op but thats cleared up now. Scar is fading to a light pink now just about 1/2" thick line.

Haven't been to the airport yet, when i do ill just go for the search thing, mag fields tend to turn the ICD's off or could even interfere with them. Going to the dentist is a pain as you need a prescription antibiotic each time you have treatment to prevent endocarditis, the cost of that soon adds up but its better than the alternative.

Do you drive still? I was just stopped for 1 month after op and DVLA and insurance arn't concerned about it so I'm okay at mo with no increase in insurance premium.

I suffer angioedema. It's not something I've always had, started to become a problem when I was about 15, 16 but it's really escalated since. Basically, for those unfamiliar with it, it causes my eyes to swell up to the point where I cannot see. Bizarely, my trigger is exercise. When I go for a run, for example, after 10 minutes or so my eyelids will begin to swell up and will continue to do so. I have absolutely no idea why it happens, for a long time no one could diagnose me so I was unable to go for a run, swim or play football which sucked. Fortunately I've been prescribed medicines which prevent it for now.

Hi, I haven't yet applied for my driving license. :( I'm not sure how to go about with it. Is there a form I need to fill in about my condition and send it to the DVLA?

Thanks

I have had a triple arthodesis of the left foot. This means my foot is fused with the ankle. I have lost 90% of movement in it as it is screwed in three places. Got some wicked scares to go with it.

Wow, some really unlucky people here! I can't recall ever having been to the hospital before, in over 15 years. I've only had one significant injury when i tripped over some barbed wire while playing outside in the dark, never got it stitched (my parents didn't think the all the blood pouring out was worth going to the hospital for  ), got an inch or so long scar just below my knee now. Now I've just gotta keep my winning streak going!
