Go way beyond 1080p with AMD Eyefinity Technology

Yeah they do, the Dell badges don't help either. This sort of config has to be OLED or there abouts in terms on hardly any bezel.

Definitely poor choice of music - did we never export Benny Hill to the USA?

Decent enough quick demo of Eyefinity but I really do think it's something you need to try for yourself to see if it's for you or not. Personally I love 3-screen gaming and after a few seconds I don't even see the bezels anymore, it's just like driving a car and not noticing the A-pillars anymore. However, I can certainly see why it's not for everyone.

Purely out of interest, those people commenting that the bezels kill the concept for them, have any of you tried it out in person or just watched YouTube clips of a Surround/Eyefinity setup working?

I think you hit the nail on the head there :p

the bezels kill it for me :(

Me too.

I had triple screen 1080p surround, landscape though.
For me it was partly the bezels and partly the stretching that occured on the two side screens.

Been running eyefinity for a few years now, bezels never bothered me at all. Feels weird if I play a game on a single screen now.

I like Surround / Eyefinity. It's definitely worth trying. Eyefinity was a bit off the pace compared to Surround when I tried it but that was 48 months ago and a lot can change.

Tried it, didn't like.
Tried it again, didn't like.
Tried it a third time, portrait and still didn't like.

Will stick to a single screen and use the other screens for extra desktop space only.

been running eyefinity for the guts of a year now, on old monitors with an inch worth of bezel between screens

hardly notice the bezels when gaming, and i treat the screens as seperate when working on the desktop.

works pretty flawlessly, the number of issues attributable to the driver side of eyefinity have been zero, sure theres some games [skyrim springs instantly to mind as a culprit] need a certain amount of coaxing into working well but a fair amount of stuff works flawlessly.

Tried it with dual 5850s back in OG times and the fisheye effect ruined it for me.

When I tried it with a borrowed monitor for a while I found that landscape with 3x24" just doesn't work, as you say ... "fisheye" effect, even got a sore neck from the wide desktop :) But the bezels didn't bother me at all.

3 monitors in portrait with a more natural 3240x1920 surface area was awesome, though the extra poor viewing angles of TN panels in portrait mode are far from ideal. Need IPS or something equally good for it really.

You're not supposed to be looking at the side monitors in Eyefinity, you're supposed to use them as peripheral vision or for a quick glance - it's the extra field of view that it gives you.
