A few weeks ago I decided I should join the ranks of the pretentious and outrageously arrogant. Unfortunately I didnt have enough cash knocking about to purchase a Mac so I went for the next best option - a goatee beard!

I normally sport facial hair somewhere between stubble and a shortish beard, so I figured keeping it to a stubbleish length would be alright (and it seems to be) but my question is:

How long should a Goatee beard be?

At the moment it is about 7mm (thats what my beard trimmer thing is set to) and it looks quite "full". At 4-5mm it was looking a bit sparse, but I dunno.

Goatee wearers, inform me on the True Way please!

Depends on the image you want.

I used to keep mine quite full. Make it too thin and people will think you can't do better. :eek: :p
 
it should hug your chin, be nicely groomed too. If it starts sticking out it's too much, a little is okay though.
 
OT: It's taken me just under 3 weeks to grow a semi-noticeable brown/blonde beard. I am envious of those who manage it in a couple of days. :D

However you feel comfortable really. Don't let it get too tufty though or it'll be just wrong. I don't think I'd be going much longer than your 7mm though.

I have sported the rap inductry standard (without the jawline hair though - not defined enough) but it's hard to do and maintain.

I have had a soul patch for well over 5 years. I've only shaved it a couple of times in that time - I now feel naked without it. I know it's too long when I can bite it, which is how I groom it!

!!, exactly the same story here.

Mine's just wild, grunge baby. I chop it with scissors and just let it run.
 
And there I was trying hard to envision a ****** beard and yet trying not to at the same time.

LOL, that word is blocked! :D I'm sure you can work out what I meant. :D
