Godfall

Wasn't the most exciting opening level to the game, but it is okay. Graphics are gorgeous and runs at 4K60 with even just a RTX 3070 at the Epic preset.

Oh dear, Ultrawide has a BIG problem! your view is far too close to your character. It actually obscures things, you can't even see your feet. :(

There isn't an FOV slider so your stuck with what must be a cropped vertical.

Other than that problem it runs great, combat seemed okay and there is a lot of stuff/depth behind the scenes with regards to skills/stats/items etc.

Yeh. A bit overwhelming at the moment. But will be good once I get used to it.

What about these supposed 4K textures that need 12GB of VRAM?

Not even close to using 8GB yet.

I should say it isnt a solid 60fps.

edit: 7.4GB when you enter earth realm.

edit2: A bit deeper on earth and 3070 won't be able to maintain 60fps but that has nothing to do with VRAM yet. Graphics are stunning.

Love love love the combat, nice variety of moves with the shield, techniques and general combat. Running bulwark bleed valorplate with a legendary sword that spawns damage orbs when dealing bleed damage. A lot of fun. The loot system works, lootsplosions etc. It's got the makings of a very good base but I suspect it will need content flow to really keep it up.

Reminds me a bit of Remnant from the Ashes, not quite AAA and therefore price tag is too much imo should be £30 but if supported well could turn into a good series.

Oh, that's a solid nope from me then.

So what is this exactly? Is it like a 3rd person Diablo? Or more like a fantasy Warframe?

It's actually a mix of both probably tbh, valorplates act a bit like warframes and then you have lootable gear, lootsplosions etc like arpgs diablo etc. The combat is great fun and varied, story is typical arpg guff but then you're not playing these for the story. The issue it ultimately has as with all non-AAA games is that it's lacking variety in missions/environments but what is there is pretty good. As mentioned Remnant from the ashes would be a good comparison I'd say. It's a good base but I'd struggle to say it's worth its current price tag, £30 or below and i'd say worth a shot if you like these types of games.

Remnant was pretty decent but I got that for free, Diablo I like but Warframe I hate, sounds like I might best to wait for Godfall to pop up in a sale or something then
