GOG.com Beta Testing Next Week - games-on-demand platform

Does GOG use a client, like Steam, or do you just receive a http/ftp link to download from?

We're very happy to announce that Strategy First and Pluto13 will be bringing Good Old Games to GOG.com.

Strategy First, the award-winning worldwide publisher, has joined GOG.com to bring some of their hit PC games to the masses at great prices. Thanks to this deal GOG.com users will get a chance to play such classics as Sacred, Jagged Alliance, Disciples and more. New deal with Pluto 13 mean that classic-games fans will have the opportunity to play Piranha Bytes' Gothic. Let's give a warm welcome to all and show them some GOG.com love :).

More companies have joined the classic gaming heaven (that's GOG.com if you didn't know), and we just couldn't resist bringing you a pair of great games from Strategy First and Piranha Bytes next Tuesday.

Disciples: Sacred Lands Gold Edition is a turn-based role-playing strategy game set in a fantasy world based on myth, magic, demons, dragons and the ultimate challenge of surviving into a new Age. And from the German studio Piranha Bytes comes Gothic, the first part of the acclaimed RPG series. As a nameless hero trapped by a magical barrier on the island of Khorinis, you must find a way out of the penal colony by completing quests, improving your skills and choosing sides among a set of opposed factions.

a bump for this, dont no how i missed it being posted, but its in this months custompc.

possible greatest idea for a site ever, got insane and castles/castles 2 :)

Today we present to you Arx Fatalis, a classic dungeon crawler with unique features, most notably a spellcasting system in which you "draw" magic runes in the air instead of just clicking a skill. The game offers an interesting storyline and allows the players multiple ways of achieving their goals. But if you thought that was all for today, think again, as we're adding Port Royale 2, an open-ended business strategy game, to the coming soon section. No holds are barred in the Carribean, so whether you want to be a merchant, a buccaneer, or both, is your choice.

:eek::cool:

Can anyone ask them to offer DID's Inferno? One of my favourites, but the sodding thing doesn't start, even with DOSBOX. I'd love to have that back.

Edited: Sorry, scratch that, just saw the link and it's already on the wishlist.
