GOG Connect

You reckon people will abuse this system? I mean whats stopping someone with a big steam library say to themselves. Ok so if i make a gog account, link it up so the gog account is full of free games (from the limited choices tho) then say ok got a gog account with some games on ill never use so ill flog the account on ebay see if i make anything.

Would people do that or can they, or is there a system to prevent it? Linking just makes it really check ur steam library really i dont think ud get steam banned for putting games on gog from it and selling gog account with em?

Unless I'm missing something, with GOG games being DRM free its not exactly difficult to steal and share them if you are so inclined, so it seems a bit of a moot point. I could download every game in my GOG library and then just send them to you if I wanted.

I'm resurrecting this thread to remind some & make others aware of GOG Connect.

Do you still check in with GOG Connect when there's a sale on?
Do you know what GOG Connect is?
GOG Connect gives you DRM free copies of certain games when they are made available by the scheme.

The Details:
You'll need to connect your GOG account to your Steam account.
Both GOG & Steam accounts can only connect through the scheme once.
Once it's attached to that particular account it's for life so if
you & a mate attach to each others make sure it's a good mate.

How it works:
Gog Connect is only available when one of the big yearly GOG sales is on.
Each time Connect is active it will give a list of games you can get,
The list can change mid-sale so it's best to keep a regular eye on it during sales.

What you do:
During a sale like the current GOG Winter sale you'll find a link to Connect on the main GOG store page,
scroll down to find it. It takes you to page where you'll find a list of games,
They can number anywhere from a handful to a dozen or more.
There's a refresh button that lets Connect compare the list to your Steam libary and
if you get a match you get given a DRM free copy of that Steam game on GOG.
Note: You'll need to set your Steam accounts privacy to public while it connects.

Questions:
If I own the game already why bother?
Why not? They're both free & DRM free.
What sort of games are offered?
New & Old ones.
Are there any good ones though?
Obviously that's down to taste but if you bought it on Steam chances are you'll like it right?
Give us some past examples.
The Telltale Walking Dead series (all of them up to & including A New Frontier),
Trine,
FTL,
Dreamfall: The Longest journey,
Prison Architect,
Metro 2033 Redux,
Metro Last Light Redux,
Dragon Age Origins,
Hard West,
The Wold Among Us,
Limbo,
Inside,
Homeworld Remastered,
Full Throttle Remastered,
Unepic,
The list goes on....

Since Connect started in 2016 It's given me over 100 games on GOG.

The current list may not light up your eyes but it's the second list of this sale.
