Going ahead with my first bit of styling on the Mini!

Well done you have just won the most stupid comment of the day award.

For around £400 you can have the car upped to 130bhp. 40 bhp is a nice increase in power for £400.

oooo, handbags at dawn. Its still pointless I had a cooper s, and even that was slow.

Some places will do the MTH map (135bhp) for about £280!

The MINI One and Cooper are mechanically identical apart - it's just the ECU map which differs. Stiffened suspension was offered as an option on the Cooper.

I may possibly be right in thinking a cooper s would give a 330i a run for it's money?

In a straight line it would'nt as a 330 gets to 60 in around 6.3 seconds and with the larger engine has more power top end. Around a track would be interesting due to the the mini having excellent handling.

mine is an auto so 6.8 so close, but as soon as you hit 70/80 the 1.6 runs out of steam.

And even round a track the 330 would do it, comfortably I'd have thought. (Unless you're talking of a sodding go-kart track :p)

Only the first link mentions that kind of figure, I could believe 135bhp from the 118bhp 1.6, not a 90bhp one.

I'm still skeptical, those links are just companies, of course they're going to say they can give you uber gains and put some fake customer testimonials up.

The mini one and cooper are identical apart from the ecu.

The 330 would destroy the Mini on track.

Well, no.

The Mk2 MINI ONE isn't in production until next month, and the Mk2 uses a different engine, so the MINI ONE has to 90bhp at the moment, since no other exists.

The Mk2 Cooper is 118bhp, as should the Mk2 ONE be when it's released.

Those links aren't just ones I've picked out of the air to prove a point. Both EssentialMINI and Lohen are well known within MINI owners clubs and there's plenty of people on forums such as MINI2 pleased with both the MTH and Bluefin solution. And, as Liam said, it's exactly the same engine anyway.

You're missing my point.

What I said is I could believe 135bhp from the Mk2 cooper which is 118bhp.

But not the Mk1 90bhp ONE.

They hardly look like a trust worthy company looking at their website, so not knowing them at all I wouldn't be surprised if they were using the Mk2 Cooper as an example and just throwing ONE in there to appeal to all the poverty spec owners.

The Mk1 Cooper is 115bhp, not exactly far from the Mk2's 118bhp.

So, if you can believe it from a 118bhp engine, why can't you believe it from an engine 3bhp less?

And as that 115bhp engine is the same as in the 90bhp ONE, then it's not too difficult to comprehend...

Good point, I overlooked that, you should have mentioned it in your first post :p .

Since 90bhp to 130bhp is very skeptical

But if the Mk1 ONE engine is exactly the same apart from the ECU, then it's more believable.
