Hi all, I seem to have been running into a few problems with my GD65 from what i can remember bios 1.4 onwards.

here is the problem:

My memory on the system screen registers 4.00GB (1.99 Usable) meaning its been allocated for hardware.. and i get that bit.

however when I have the OC Genie on everything is fine it registers 4.00GB and its all usable, so im thinking that the OC Genie chip on the board is taking up the allocated Ram which buggers my 4Ghz OC up because OC genie only gets my system to 3.2Ghz but manually i can get 4ghz! :(

So to have all 4GB of Ram I have to be stuck at 3.2 but if i want my 4Ghz i sacrifice 1.99 Ram as its then allocated.

Im thinking of flashing back to the original Bios v1.0 see if that solves it can i do this in windows? MSI live update just looks like i can get the latest one, which i dont want. so can i do this manually?

has anyone else had/seen this problem with the GD65?? OC GENIE Sucks big time and i want my 4Ghz with my 4.00BG of RAM..helllllp

thanks in advance

im using 1.6 now n it still does it.

and yeah you cant do anything in the Bio when using OC Genie so I cant use that and clock higher.

and what do you mean letting it do its stuff?

Well if you plan on flashing it, should be achievable through a usb thumbdrive and using the flash utility on the mobo (haven't tried on my GD80 yet since that system isn't complete). I would avoid flashing from Windows as others have learned the hard way.

From my understanding, OC genie tries overclocking in small steps. That's what I meant by "doing it's stuff".

Actually I'm a little confused here. Can Windows access all 4gb of your Ram? ie can use you a memtool to fill your ram and have a tool to show ram usage (like the cpu gadget in Windows).

the memory is showing at nearly 50% usage when idle so somethings taking it up some where.
the CPU/RAM gadget also shows 48% usage.

How much memory are you expecting to be 'free' when you view the screens above?

a lot more than 109mb!

thats showing that out of 4096mb installed 109mb is free.
So around 3.9GB is being used in an idle state? im pretty sure thats wrong.
