If they said not modular because you can't braid those cables, then maybe. Even then not many are bothered to and just buy the extender.

Also a modular 24 pin cable is much larger and harder to route.

Just get the AX if you want full modular.

From a purely aesthetics point of view, it does include the 24 pin and MB connector, but also has 2x6pin cable built into it making it semi modular. The cables going from the PSU are from the TX range and the far better quality modular cables included in the bag are from the AX range. The PCI e cable has a different coloured connector to the one going from the PSU. Picky I know, but will sway me to get the 650/750 AX

but them cables look rubbish compared to the AX cables which are fully black cabled instead of the colours showing under the cheap looking black braid

IIRC my "old" and trusty HX650 is a 80+ Bronze/Seasonic design, while the larger HX range are 80+ Silver/Channel Well (CWT).
