Going for walk at night?

I love walking with the dog in the dead of night up the woods. Last time I went out was about 3 miles into the country side, pitch black just me the dog and the woods (That siounds seedy)

I love it, esp if you take a torch you see eyes in the forest, People get freaked out by it, doesnt bother me lol

You reckon it be daft to go for a walk at night on ur own, been thinkin about it sometimes but duno, dont wana run into a gang of lads with no one around lol

i do it quite often and i live in whats aparently a rough area of newcastle and im yet to have any trouble.

Seriously, you can't leave your own homes without the fear of being attacked? What sort of sad state of affairs is that?

no is not that bad... but i live near the shops and petrol stations so gangs and stuff is always around.. as i've said i would go out with mates without problem.. day time it's all fine.. of course i do get some strange looks at me.. few months ago i was watching cops(if thats what it is called) and they actually went for a gang member with a DESERT DEAGLE for threatening a woman in her car. and that was like 5 mins walk from my door..

I take the dog for a drive and walk about in a forest at 3am/4am at times if I cant sleep. Very quiet and peaceful. The dogs not keen on the bats though.

You'll be fine at 3/4am in a city too, everyones in bed as long as its not Friday/Saturday night.

I used to quite enjoy walking about Dundee late at nights, whether after a night out or just because I felt like having a bit of a think, there's something quite peaceful about a city at that time of night usually. I haven't done it much in London yet but I've had relatively little cause to do so, it doesn't worry me much though and never has.

Walking in Dundee :eek::eek: You must either be Hard or very brave lol

Just out of curiosity, where is Stoke police station? (area wise)

Just behind the Sainsburys, arrowed it here.

Never had a problem with it, though I grew up in a very sleepy market town, so i generally figured I was the scariest thing out at night there. I don't quite feel like that any more, but I've only once had any trouble in Edinburgh, and even that was pretty minor. I love going for walks up in Holyrood Park/Arthur's Seat late at night - it's more fun if you don't take a torch :p

Meantime I've been in China (no problem, predictably, more likely to be pickpocketed in the day), Cambridge (never felt even remotely threatened walking around the centre or back to my flat near Addenbrookes) and Vienna (far too civilized for this nonsense!).

Been pretty lucky so far.

I'm just mad mental hard me. ;) A third option is that I could just be stupid. Nah, Dundee has a bit of a reputation but I saw very little trouble while I was there (~8 years) so either I'm very unobservant, there isn't as much trouble as is alleged or somewhere in between. :)

Whenever I walk back from pubs at night I go along a riverside route, only people I see at that late hour are Polish tramps usually drunk, no bother at all.

Dont live in fear, fear is the mind killer.

Perhaps it is nothing but when it is very cold and walking to the pub or out during the day I have a calf length trench coat and when walking past groups of chavs they seem very wary.

Maybe they think I have a cut down pump action under the arm ?

I do a lot of photography round here at night and I've never had or seen any problems, though I'm sure some of the areas outside the city centre do have their problems. I think contrary to it's (unfounded) reputation, crime in liverpool is relatively low compared to a lot of UK cities.

I go for a walk or a run most nights / mornings...mainly due to the fact that I have trouble sleeping :(

It's nice though as the streets are totally empty and quiet, and sometimes the missus even comes along with me to keep me company...which is nice too :)
