Just bought a Toshiba C660-1LD & was happy with its 4GB RAM, but CPU-Z shows only 1x 4GB module.
I presume as theres only 1x module then its not running at double channel speed or 1066mhz?
Does DDR3 run in dual channel with 2 sticks

If getting another 4GB stick would the memory speed double, as in dual channel? If so then I'll try get a stick. I noticed OCUK sell a 4GB stick, but don't know if it would work with the existing stick? ...so many sticks & no tree lol.

OCUK 4GB notebook memory

Any help would be appreciated as Ive not bought any memory in 5 years.

Ahh thanks, I'll just double check theres another stot in the lapy then nip up the OCUK shop.
The manual says it can take 8GB.

Will the memory then run in dual channel or 1066mhz?

I think speed and channel are different things, but it should run in dual channel if u have 2 sticks in there :D.

I'm not 100% sure about this so hopefully someone can just confirm it all.

Well that was a wasted journey.
The OCUK site says 4 units in stock but the shop could only find their empty box.
Looks like there are perks to working at OCUK lol.

Well no joy again today at OCUK with just a reply they will get some more memory later this week. Funny how their website still shows them being in stock.

Anyway, I found a direct competitor in Fenton/Stoke on Trent... AD something...
This shop looks to have their act together & I could not imagine them selling returned goods (as they were miss-sold at the wrong clock speeds) as new to someone else.

Wow, dual channel memory has certainly made an impact.
GPU-Z reports the memory bus as being 128bit, rather than 64bit with one stick.
WOW has jumped from 15fps to 22fps.

Yeah that dual channel is great, first time I built my PC I didn't have it in dual channel and noticed after a few days, safe to say the difference was amazing.
