Going out in St. Albans (and places closeby)

Batchwoods is cheesy and fun only if you've had way too much to drink. You will get mugged by chavs on the way out.

Area in Watford is good, but you will get bottled by a chav and require facial surgery.

Hmm, maybe that's only if you're me.

Lots and lots of good bars though - a lot of them in Watford are open late too (till 3am). Loads of good pubs/bars in St Albans on the high street.

I'll be out in st albans on friday and saturday night with the misses, not sure where yet but planning on dropping in on the crown and waterend bar (lloyds) for sure.

edit - not a big fan of batchwood either although the girl likes going for the cheese sometimes. I went to the horn with some mates to watch a band last friday, was pretty good.

Maybe we should have a local meet then as there's quite a lot of us from Watford, Hemel, Dunstable, Luton, St Albans and so on.

Snap...hogs head/blacksmiths?

yeah thats the one, although it gets a little bit too crowded for my liking, top lookin barmaids though ;)

Oh god! What dark forces drove you in that place?

lol for some reaon my mates like the nastiest places, they moved from batchwoods, to visage and last time i spoke to them they were going out every week clubbing to stevenage, which was just the last straw for me :p i believe the appeal was all the loose young women who go there, and being the only one with a gf i'd rather skip it and not get murdered by the local scum :D

Going out aside, i used to work for Herts Highways working all over the county, and my favorite bit is definitely Bishops Stortford, closely followed by Harpenden.

Saying that, i was given a £7 a day lunch allowance, and Harpenden was the only place that was too expensive for a pub lunch :p

Plus i don't know if it counts as Harpenden, but i was working in a very very posh village just outside, on the road to redbourne i believe (out of Harp and turn right somewhere), and it got the award for the most people inspecting me and calling the Police, 3 times in 2 days :D neighbourhood watch goes militant
