Going self-employed...

Quite how this thread turned into a debate about depreciating axes and logging I will never know but then again this GD so anything is possible, or so it seems.

A lot of my friends who are my age, or older or even younger have gone self-employed in some capacity.

Looking forward to tomorrow morning, and to be honest, I haven't been looking forward to anything else recently.

I've got two customers lined up already next week and I haven't even started yet. :D

Will keep all update and thanks for the info.jpg . :p

;)

Hi guys, just want someone to give my first draft of the leaflet + business card a look over, any advice is much appreciated: :)

UPDATE:

Stage 1 of 5 of my business plan is in full effect. I know a company (a mate works for them - they do all business signs, logos, stickers for car, business cards) that does graphic design so I am contacting them Thursday, also got a domain, email etc setup today, now just need to start working on a website tomorrow.

There sure is a lot of things on my to-do list. :)

I would change that. Nobody needs to know that it's a new venture - that might put some people off because you're new to it.

We offer a wide range of solutions for all computing related problems.

That's not exactly great but I'd prefer it over "Hello and welcome".

Hey, and thanks. My mate has been giving me a hand with it and we've come up with something like this so far.

This is personal, makes people read what your offering and think about giving you business because your being honest. Cuts out all the bull crap professional wording that people hate to read.

First customer of GD Computer Services happy today. Money in the bank. Enjoying this. :)

You need your marketing to be right and you will cream it in, marketing is a very important thing these days.

P.S get your site and business cards done and the calls will come flooding in.

I ain't even got a business I work full time but side line jobs is huge! My lists goes on and on and I have done no marketing or a website it's just word of mouth.

It's all a work in progress atm.

Just got off the phone with a graphics design company I know that does vehicle signs, business cards etc etc. Also setup a domain name the other day and everything, now just need to make a website.

Or if anyone on here will draft one up for me I would appreciate a message in trust. :)

Too personal for me, doesn't come across as professional but then it depends on what market you're after.

I can see why you'd want a personal touch though. :)

As others why wait until monday? time is money and there aint no time like the present

Just read what your going to do, think its good, the biggest loser in the market today is service, service is ****e, if you can deliver on time all the time then youll go far, waiting costs £££££

Website is a work in progress at the moment. Just working on a design for flyers/business cards, maybe adverts in local paper/mag, and at the moment getting a quote for a car sticker. :)

Haven't had any more jobs come through yet (obviously because I need to get my business details out there).

Take a look at the website here: www.gd-computer-services.com , though its pretty basic at the moment and nothing is 'set in stone' yet. Any opinions welcome though remember its basically just something simple and to the point as its not like I am selling products online etc.

Car sticker (just drafted in Skitch):

Get rid of the images from the site and make the text a little smaller.

Also try and get yourself a real number as it's looks better to a customer over a mobile number imo (this can be done via viop services etc).
