Going soap free in the shower... forever.

You just need to find a soap that works for you and your skin type.
hibiscrub was a particularly aggressive product to use. Its what surgeons use on there hands as a pre op scrub and can also be prescribed as a face cleanser for bad acne.

Yeah I know mate, I covered that in the OP. It was prescribed.

That was really interesting, far more interesting than I was anticipating. It got me thinking though I never seem to get bad skin or reactions so am clearly lucky in that regard, I use that Original Source Mint and Tea Tree which is pretty damn refreshing but probably shockingly bad if your looking to have both the good bacteria and bad. This stuff I imagine just nukes em all.

Its probably not much different to the simple and dove stuff people have been mentioning in this thread.

It is more the stuff the OP has mentioned that appears to be significantly different/non-standard - plenty of other brands of shower gel will use fairly similar standard ingredients... original source goes for the same "natural" etc.. marketing as those other mainstream brands.

I like a bit of coaltar soap now and again or a bar of Pears as it reminds me of going to my Grandparents as a kid. Most of the time I use whatever shower gel we get for the kids.....

Ah I've not seen that stuff in years, my nana used to have that in her bathroom.

I couldn't imagine going soap-free for my body, I've heard of going with no shampoo but this is something else to me lol.

I have no proof but it's my personal belief people became smellier when they started using soap.
Soap can't be good for you.

I always had really bad acne as a kid and still get spots now I'm nearly 30. I know a lot of soap irritates my skin and it took me years to find something that works. Weirdly, it is head and shoulders.

I have quite oily skin so the opposite of a lot of people in this thread, especially eczema and psoriasis sufferers so probably trying to compare apples and oranges but it seems to keep my skin at a decent level of oiliness.

I did try the no soap routine but I get a bit of foliculitis on my forehead due to blocked pores and that came back after 4 days of no head and shoulders and didn't go away by week 3 so I gave up.

Also, for those with sensitive skin, I'd definitely try the deodorant powder from lush or any deodorant powder as it helps me massively.

I knew someone who stated that he had not washed his hair in over two years. Apparently, the hair oils would cleanse his hair and scalp.
He was a really nice guy, but I no longer know him.
