Hi guys,

I did a search on some posts here and found a load of stuff out about Bangkok but i've got a couple more questions if anyone can help

My plan at the moment is to go to Bangkok for 4 nights (staying at the President Palace) and then 4 nights at Phi Phi Island (Phi Phi Island Resort)

I've checked around for fancy pants hotels in Bangkok but at about £70 a night for a Suite, the President Palace looks amazing.

Does anyone know of any reasonable value airlines for the trip from UK to Bangkok? Also does it make much difference on the way back if I go from Phuket to UK or whether it's better to go from Phuket to Bangkok (maybe spend a night there) and then go to UK?

Also any reviews from anyone who's been to the President Palace, excursions to go / not to go on and whether Phi Phi island really is as amazing as it looks.

Thanks

Viks

Regarding the airlines the three main arab carriers, Qatar, Emirates and Etihad offer good quality service at an affordable price. I've flown all three and I'd definitely recommend them. Unlimited wine is on offer if you fancy it!

Personally I enjoyed Qatar the most, the layover process was simple and easy and you barely have to walk at all to get to the transfer gate, whereas with Emirates you're stuck in the ridiculously large (though more attractive) Dubai airport walking up and down stairs and going back on yourself to get to the transfer gate. With Etihad you have to wait in a building I think is like a giant Arab pot, with inadequate seating.

Can you do Phuket to UK ?

I don't know a scheduled airline that does it

gor UK to BKK the middle eastern airlines are usually cheapest but will involve a connection, I think EVA Air are the best for a direct flight

i flew with qatar to bangkok and thought they were great. Would recommend them. Cant help you with anything else though as i was staying in the bidget places

Phi Phi is beautiful. Commercial, but still an incredible place. Try quieter beaches like Runtree bay and it's stunning

a coup,e of decent hotels in BKK at about your budget

both are in Sukhumvit Rd area whihc I think is best place to be

Majestic Grande and the Landmark

Wasn't really that impressed with Phi Phi tbh

Forget Phi Phi, there are much better places in Thailand to go.

Also, Singapore Airlines are pretty decent, and Changi Airport is awesome for a stopover. :D

TBH if flying economy, just go the cheapest, as they are all much of a muchness at that level.

Thanks for all the advice guys.

It's for our honeymoon and after talking to some people I'm now thinking of 3 days in Bangkok, 4 days in Phi Phi, 2 days in Cambodia, 1 day in Bangkok and then flying back to the UK

What excursions are really worth seeing in Bangkok?
