When are you going? I went there about 15 years ago when it was a sleepy village during the day and a hive of activity during the night. I had a really good time. We stayed in a really naff apartment but that didn't matter at the time. It was all about beer sun and women, not necessarily in that order :D

Q F T.

I went a few years back and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was red hot (45 celsius at its peak) and we had no aircon which was a letdown... But good nightlife, nice people for the most part, and if you know where to look there's some good food too. Can't beat a proper turkish kebab. :D

Huh, so many turkey haters, iv been 7-8 times and think its great. Yea you get the annoying pushy turks but tbh, its your money, tell them to swivel, i used to as a kid nevermind a young adult..

Turks aint against beer, gumbet isnt the BEST of places, but its probably fine for you+mates, sun girls cheap etc.. head to bodrum a few nights, was there last year its certainly picked up since i was a kid, a lot of nightlife, hot girls on back of trucks with speaker systems broadcasting adverts for clubs etc :)

Always better to take a lot of cash to turkey, since theres so much you can do, food+drink is generally CHEAP but you will want to go and have some big nights, do some activitys and buy aload of fake clothes(I got some AMAZING jeans last time, best jeans iv ever owned, Armani tagged too haha. adidas jacket iv got is better than the ones in shops too since its handmade.)

You didnt get SUCH a good deal tbh :) last time i went our hotel was 5*(not really 5* for rest of EU, a pleasant 3-4 really) and all inclusive(booze too!) doubles were about £20pp for a week.. its the flight that stings you though :)

Similar situation here.

I've been to Turkey 5-6 times now and it's always been brilliant. I've stayed in various different parts and every time it's been great. Very friendly people, great weather, excellent food and mega cheap too. The only thing I could see some people not liking is how pushy some of the shop owners can be. Just be a man and tell them you're not interested and you'll be fine.

Doesn't matter if the place is crap, make the best of it, drink heavy, eat like a pig, sunbathe.
It's all about having a laugh man.

Exactly.

Who cares if the other people there aren't to everyone's taste.

You could have the most ignorant people in the world there or the nicest, shouldn't stop you havin a laugh with your mates!

And i'm sure everyone in the country isn't the same ;) There may be some complete **** heads but surely that's the same here?

agree entirely
pushy, ignorant, never again

That just the middle east in general, scratch that, most places outside western europe, especially in the tourist areas.

They see a white guy and think $MONEY$, it can spoil you holiday a bit.:(
