Going well under the speed limit

I swear i've seen so many people doing way under the speed limit the past week or so, like 20 in a 30. Which totally **** me off, I've got places to go, I'd prefer to to dawdle along I like to keep the roads flowing.
Usually ends up me shouting something along the lines of "Increase throttle you blighter, if you cannot drive your automobile at a sensible speed then you shouldn't be on the blasted road"

Anyone else noticed this slow drivery lately?

You reckon it's down to people driving more economically to save petrol?

everyones on a fuel economy drive,

i mean if you can knock 10-15% off your fuel bill why not

Theres taking the pee though.. some lady in a BIG SUV doing 25 on a slip road? Layed on my horn after a long time trying to keep calm on the roads :D No cars on the lane and she was doing that speed and actually waiting for a car about a mile off to pass her..

aye, it ****s me off too.
but the thing is, if they're doing 40 in a 60 or whatever, they'll keep on doing 40 even if the limit goes down to 30, the weirdos

i was behind this woman who was doing 30 in a 50, which was quite annoying, and i couldn't pass because there was too much oncoming traffic. at a roundabout, i swear she went 10. she almost stopped

pretty sure she wasn't doing it to save petrol, i think it's just because they are old and/or women ;)

Yeah, I've notived this a hell of a lot too. Five, maybe as little as three to four weeks ago if I sat on the motorway at an indicated 80mph (tdi Gold = 74/75ish) then I'd be far from the fastest on the road. Now, if I'm arsing around at an indicated 75mph I'm wizzing past almost everyone, 80mph and very few keep up.

Dont know if even the company car guys are being ordered to leave off the loud peddle, but as Im not paying for my fuel and the boss doesnt seem to mind, Im still keeping pace.

:P lol yes they do my head in, especially doing 30-40 on the back roads that can easily take 60.

Though the last time I go annoyed (2 weeks ago) I went to overtake coming out of a corner, spotted a cyclist that i had somehow missed when i was looking through the corner so ended up over reacting with a MR car and spinning it into a ditch. (fully my fault but ill blame the supper slow driver for causing it :P)

They should introduce minimum speeds.

Nope I don't think it has anything to do with economy. Just rubbish drivers.
Unless it's around a camera then I go so slowly past them. It would only take a second to forget and put the foot to the floor and you vbe done. If your well below then even if you put the foot down, you should still be fine. I don't want any more points. I'm sure it must annoy the hell out of people though.

Grr @ slow drivers. The other day I got stuck behind a line of dawdlers pulling away from a set of lights at the slowest speed I've ever encountered. I was in a bad mood at the time so was left with no choice other than to aggressively overtake the whole line of them on the hatchings. If the bunch of ******** at the council hadn't decided to remove the overtaking lane there and replace it with the STUPID hatchings for NO REASON then this wouldn't have been a problem. I hate the council.

Doing 20 in a 30 doesn't save fuel it uses more.

Indeed, iirc you need to do constant 80kph ( 47 mph?) to drive as economically as possible.
Acellerating less agressive saves fuel too though.

Heh.. its becoming so bad sometimes i wonder if i blew a red when i take off at traffic lights as it seems everyones still at a standstill in my rearviews, i wonder if its the constant bombardment of survillence i.e speed cameras, cctv etc.. that are spooking a lot of drivers these days?

1) Why do you believe that?
2) Where did you get that from?

It's one of the arguments to make those 80 kph zones with avg speed cams I think, it increases the flow of traffic apparently and uses less fuel than speeding along @ 100 (60 mph) or 120 kph (75 mph?) )

Aye I was going to post that Fox, I believe the typical figure is usually 56mph iirc? Maybe wrong though.

I just tend to go for the least congested route possible, which usually involves fun country lanes. :D This way, if someone is driving ridiculously slow, I usually don't need to wait (if at all) for a chance to overtake.

Well for one thing it's going to vastly depend on engine size, design, gearing blah blah.
