Essex, innit?
I'm sorry, but I suspect the following question(s) will be pretty stupid, but I admit I am absolutely clueless when it comes to wireless stuff...

I have a SFF PC - it's a Soltek somthing-or-other, I put together myself a long time ago.

I don't think I have any spare PCI slots. (I assume you have to have a wireless thingy in the PC?)

BUT, I want to go wireless.

I am on Virgin cable.

What do I need to buy to do it? And how do I go about it?

Many thanks

James

Instead of buying a wireless adapter, you can buy a cheapish router and flash it with DD-WRT. You can then cable the SFF PC to the router, and use the router as a wireless bridge.

Whilst I understand the USB adapter option (I do have a free USB port, albeit at the front of the PC), the first reply about flashing routers is beyond me I'm afraid! :(

Could someone be so kind as to post links to the specific bits I will need?

Thanks very much.

Some routers (like the Linksys WRT54GL) will take a third party firmware like Tomato, which has a whole bunch of options which both the original firmware and most consumer routers don't have.
There's more information at www.linksysinfo.org.
