I don't have Muslim friends or any other religious people as friends and will keep it that way.

That you know of ;) Some people keep it to themselves.

Presumably you don't work or travel or enjoy getting to know other people?

I'm not sure how someone can not have friends or family who are not directly or indirectly connected to some sort of belief? Unless you don't go out or have any friends.

Heck the UK was traditionally a christian country so I'd be surprised if someone you know isn't!

I do not enjoy getting to know other people, work is for working and when travelling I keep to myself.

Oh darling, for someone who sounds like they’ve been hermetically sealed in their bedroom, you’re remarkably vocal and judgemental about other people.

My sister in law is similar. She is so strong in her beliefs and will shout people down about stuff for days, whilst having absolutely zero clue what she's talking about.

Her homophobia in South Africa was spectacular, there was no reason, no discussion, any attempt at conversation was met with "no. It's wrong" and that was that.

When she moved to Berlin she got quite a shock and ate more humble pie in the first year than the rest of her life combined.

And yet she's still incapable of applying that lesson to other things.

Woman's an idiot.

Plenty of that mindset in the countryside too. People convinced they’ve got cities all figured out without ever actually spending time in one.

Yorkshire is quite possibly the best demonstration for this in the world.

I love chatting to Yorkshire folks. Always a good laugh, very friendly people, you just have to talk around their lack of world views or risk creating tense situations.

So do people on here.
Oh yeah of course
But an example I have is that he's got a young son and he freely says if his son grows up not being religious he'd love him but would cut him out of his life.
This is the same guy who used to drink and smoke at uni

"Darling" nice belittling there.

Everyone judges people that's life.

If I would have been hermetically sealed in my bedroom I wouldn't have formed the opinions I have.

hermetically sealed bedrooms are vital - the misplaced rhetoric of golders green MP suggesting the pro-gaza marches inflame the situation (apparently only been one this year and another may16)
... when it is predominately the social media content people receive in their bedrooms.

This is ridiculous:

"Keir Starmer, Jew Harmer"

His wife is Jewish you idiots!
State of public is getting quite concerning. The lack of fact based arguments is seriously scary now.

Maybe it's always been this way. But I've never seen it so apparent in people's arguments now.

People just shout thier same opinion louder when challenged. Seriously worry about if democracy is even a worth while for of government anymore vs say monarchy.

If vast swathes of the electorate can be manipulated into believing lies then democracy becomes a tool for the influencers.

Sure sure, I know this is the case throughout history. But it seems like we are going backwards. Never before has misinformation been so easy to disseminate nationally.

Ah sorry, didn't realise you're the only one who's allowed to do that in GD.

Everyone judges people that's life.

Making a judgement on someone you’ve actually interacted with is one thing. Blanket-declaring you wouldn’t be friends with anyone who’s religious is just impressively silly, especially from someone whose social circle sounds like it could fit comfortably inside a reasonably sized wardrobe.

If I would have been hermetically sealed in my bedroom I wouldn't have formed the opinions I have.

Plenty of bedroom-dwellers have formed very strong opinions on things they have no real experience of. It’s practically a modern art form at this point, with some making a living from it.
