GoldFish Dying

I thought it was against the law to give fish and other live animals as prizes at fairs and the like :/

Yeah I'm sure I read that in the paper a week or two ago.

It's very strange that these fairground workers are ignoring the law :p

my dad use to do this thing with our goldfish,if you see them having problems or they start dieing and you can see them get a small glass with whiskey in it and put your goldfish in and you will see the fish jump back to life.i have seen this been done a lot of times and it works.

Drinking water isn't fit for fish to live in. Chlorine, nitrates, copper, lead amongst other impurities. If you're serious about keeping fish, and drinking fresh, clean water instead of the rubbish the water companies believe is acceptable for us all to drink, get a reverse osmosis (RO) filter. The difference is clear, often literally ;)

here's some from the new tank - will be getting some more shortly, i don't have any of the new baby fishes!

This is Jasper (huge ginger eyebrows :p)

My friend recently won a few gold fish at the fair for his kids, but they are dying rapetly and his kids r getting up set by it (only young) he recently bought a few more but they died a couple of days later aswell, he said it looked like the skin had come off it  now i thought gold fish were fairly hardy fish, anyone have any ideas as to why they r dying so fast, he says he changes the water all the time, he even bought a little filter aswell. And now they have laid a little pile of egss aswell.

EXACTLY the same happened to me and a loads of my mates a few years ago. Don't buy them from the fair, they nearly always die... All 6 of mine died and 4 of my mates died.
