golf mk4's ?

I have experienced the 1.6 Golf 1st hand and found it not as good to drive as my dads 1.6 Focus which I haven't driven much but it is the better driving car of the two.

If it was my money i would go for the Focus, as it is a nice looking car and much better value for money in every sense.

On the other hand there is no problem with my mums 1.6 mk4, nice solid car, but over priced by about £1000 and the parts are not cheap.

If that's a 1.8T GTI then you're priveledged if it's the slowest car you've ever driven :)

Mine has 83K on the clock now and I don't have any console rattles at all.. only squeak I have is by one of the rear seatbelts and I cba to figure out what it is - I just turn the stereo up :)

Agreed about gear linkage, although I got this looked at by a mate and it feels a bit better now. Steering is way too light on these cars too as well IMO but there are worse places you could be - I find it OK for long journeys.

Nah its the N/A 20v 125bhp jobbie, awful engine. Lucky i only do short trips to work and back in it so i can cope with it for the moment, however as soon as it gets mot'd in june im gonna ditch it and use the mk2 full time.

i am swaying towards a ford focus now, looks a bigger car which is a plus and pretty decent insurance.I was woundering do they all come with airbags or certain models or years?
