Agreed about gear linkage, although I got this looked at by a mate and it feels a bit better now. Steering is way too light on these cars too as well IMO but there are worse places you could be - I find it OK for long journeys.

Nah its the N/A 20v 125bhp jobbie, awful engine. Lucky i only do short trips to work and back in it so i can cope with it for the moment, however as soon as it gets mot'd in june im gonna ditch it and use the mk2 full time.

i am swaying towards a ford focus now,looks a bigger car which is a plus and pretty decent insurance.I was woundering do they all come with airbags or certain models or years?

All Focuses will come with airbags.

All models come with twin front airbags, but ABS and traction control are options on many. However the Ford gained a respectable four-star Euro NCAP crash test rating. Strong deadlocks (on all but the base model CL) make it secure and the bonnet can only be opened using the key while top spec models also come with an alarm.

Yes, every single one will have a driver's airbag. Passenger airbags only feature on some cars.
