Golf problem

My daughters Golf has gone a bit wonky, the check engine light has lit up and its doing some stuttering.

Its a 2006 1.6 FSi auto, what do you think?

Yea thats a technical term

Well she got home just about with the little engine light lit up and if you try to rev it or drive it its sort of shuddering. The book says something about a MAF sensor, whats that?

can you get the error code from the trip computer?

My technical expertise is legendary, it amounts to putting petrol in.

Iv also had a few now and its cold outside, but im doing my good dad bit before it goes off to be fixed tomorrow

It was a coil, hes put a new brake light bulb in too, £65.40 all in,picked up and delivered tonight, bargain

I cant be bothered im useless at all that, hes taken the car away anyway and i hate going down there theres oil everywhere, i done a 100 quid jumper in cold blood the last time i was there.
