Hi All. As there were a few positive responses for a thread like this I thought I will create one and if it is not very active we will go back to the single golf thread. I understand being winter there wont be as much activity due to all you "FAIR WEATHER" golfers out there!

So if you are a member of a club in the UK I'm sure you will already be aware of the howdidido website which I believe most clubs use to manage their handicap, results, competition entries and other information. If you have a howdidido page then post it below and I will add it to the top post so people can follow each others 'official' progress if you wish. This however does not mean you cannot post unofficial scores etc. Everyone is welcome as not everyone who plays golf is a member at a club so let us know how your wet, cold, windy Sunday went on the course.

zakjattaway: Handicap - 8

esK`: Handicap - 20

[ASSE]Hinchy: Handicap - 12

stuie: Handicap - 10

So to kick things off...

A pretty windy weekend for me. Had the Christmas Fayre on Saturday, shotgun start teams of four. Best 2 scored from par 3's, best 3 scores from par 4's and all 4 scores from par 5's. We come in with 106 points which was 2 better and come 4th. Each won 3 bottles of wine and a box of chocolates. That's helped out my Christmas shopping list!

Then played our 2nd winter foursomes match on Sunday and left with a healthy 6and5 win. I would say as far as winter golf weekends go that was a success!

Does it matter I'm not a paid up member? I can see your profile but I cant link mine for some unknown reason.

Nice Stuie. I started the year on 16 and my goal was to get to single figures. The lowest I got was 9.7. Does that count? :D Got 2 more stableford competitions this month so I am hoping I can make it by the skin of my teeth!

I was 16.9 rolling up to the feb comp and hit 10.1 second week of october. Would like to drop to singles but with the weather we are getting at the moment it seems unlikely and just holding on to 10 till summer will do just fine. Would like to get down to 8 next year something about having less than .5 shots a hole would feel good. Got to up my GIR from 40% and cut the 2/3 3 stabs a round but winter golf is tough.

Getting a game golf for xmas to help analyse where things are failing to help tighten stuff up

Yes there is Stuie just had a look would you be interested in a game over the winter break? I am off from the 24th till the 4th.

Should be able to do something Im also off over that period although ive already got games on the 27th and 2nd.

Do you have a regular playing partner can perhaps get a 4 ball together

I have someone yeah he wants to play over the period too so I'll give him an ask mate. Want me to trust you my details?

Very frustrated today. Parred 11 of the first 12 holes, the other being a double bogey as a result of a four putt (I'm blaming the conditions - long long uphill putt on a wet green. I couldn't have hit it any harder!). Was still going ok until 17 where I hit my tee shot OOB, then hit my provisional OOB too. My first OOB was a foot through the fence and had obviously trickled through after rolling down some tree roots. 18th a low hook off the tee into the trees put me in a really bad situation.

Ended up with 35 stableford points after 18 holes after blobbing the last two :o Even after the first 12 holes though, I was only four shots ahead of the card which I thought would have been more.

Still, lots of positives to take.
