Golfers.

Out of interest, any of you use 'speciality' sunglasses like the Adidas On-Par, and if so are they actually any differen't than using ordinary sunnies? I ask as my last pair of decent Oakleys got robbed whilst i was on holiday last year, so was going to be replacing with something half-decent.

cheers

Hi kef,
I wear glasses so playing in the rain is a pain, but i just have prescription reactive lenses in my glasses that are ok. be intrested to hear if there is any difference in them to the golf ones

I don't wear sunglasses, may have to look into some though as it can be hard to see the ball, luckily the sound of the ball hitting the trees helps me know where my drive has gone :D

Just ordered a pair of Oakley Half Jacket Golf Array specs, should be here tomorrow ready for a game on friday and the weekend. I'll let you all know how the specs perform (though Mr 16v might know beforehand! ;)) (plus i got a new Nike '08 model 5 wood so will report back on that one too!)

Check out some of the walking trousers like berghaus and north face

I have Black combats, berghaus trousers, nike golf chinos

I have found the Oakley half jackets fine for golf. If you can stretch the budget, get the blue polarised lenses for the really bright days, and the orangy ones(G30`s i think) for the cloudy days. They really do make a difference, especially on the greens IMO.

As for cloths, people like Ping, Stromberg etc. seem to be making a good effort on clothing, finding it is another matter. Some of the stuff only goes to pro shops, so it can be tricky to get hold of. The Ping "griffin" trousers were great, but they have been replaced now by the "Sonic" which I am not as keen on. Other than that, I tend to stick to Ashworth, Polo, Galvin Green or Adidas when it comes to shirts and tops. I definately have not got the figure for J Lindeberg :D:D I have been known to wear a white belt with black trousers and white shoes, or even a pair of pure white trousers, which is pushing it at 35yo :D

I do play off 5 though, so that makes it a bit easier. ;)

I don't play so much anymore but a few years back was playing a few times a week and always just went for the line of most comfort within the club rules. I have to have my knees strapped even for golf so I'd always make sure whatever I was wearing was nice and comfortable. Don't see the point in spending all the money on fancy golfing fashion as it tends to be a bit daft. Saying that I don't have the money to spend on crazy golf fashion so that could explain that one.

Glasses were delivered this morning (great service by www.barringtonsports.com ordered yesterday at 3pm, delivered today at 8am!), they have the Fire Iridium, G30 and slate grey lenses included. Took a while to get the knack of changing the lenses, but they do seem to do the job when i tried them out in the back garden with regards contrast etc. I'll see how they shape up tomorrow at my little works comp.

I was surprised by the performance of the G30`s. I had kind of dismissed them in favour of the darker lenses, but after having the HJ`s a couple of years, the G30`s spend more time in the frames than anything else.

Just a heads up as i see your in Wakefield. If you lose any of the nosebuds (you will :)) or need accessories etc. quickly, Rubens Menswear in Barnsley are an Oakley specialist. They have been really helpful for me in the past. On line or in store. If its in the Oakley catalogue, they will have it or will get it for you.
