Good Acoustic Songs To Learn

Hmmm...Damien 'Busker-lite' Rice eh? A man more bland than the food product he's named after. Forgive me if i try and edge you away from playing that and towards something with a bit more substance.

Nick Drake is awesome, but I completely disagree with your bit on Rice. He's an absolutely brilliant singer-songwriter, and actually a fantastic guitar player if you've seen him live! Really powerful singer too.

Any help would be great, Classical Gas, who is that by?
Sorry, I didn't check back. :p

Classical Gas was written by Mason Williams, but many people have covered it. Most notably would be Tommy Emmanuel, and Eric Clapton. Clapton's version is very faithful to the original, but Tommy's version is just something else. That's the one I play. ;) :D

There are a few tutorials for it on YouTube if I remember correctly. At first you may just feel like "Oh God... This is actually impossible." But I can assure you, that if you play it, and play it regularly, then you WILL get it.

good acoutic songs to learn

Pretty much anything off the unplugged in new york album by nirvana,
the nobodies by marilyn manson
good riddance (time of your life) by greenday

there always good to start with and quite simple little melodys

You may have heard it before - the music to the Sony Bravia advert (with the balls bouncing down the hill) "Heartbeats" by Jose Gonzalez.

The finger picking is simple, there's not much to remember but you will need to retune (low E->D, g->f#).

Stairway! But i'd also agree with Classical Gas, it's a good tune. As Naffa said, it's one that seems very difficult, but if you stick with it you'll get it, and it's quite good to show off with too!. Search Youtube, some dude there has broken it down into ten or so lessons.

Fake Plastic Trees - Radiohead. I don't know why, but when I play/sing this song, I'm almost in tears. It's beautiful.

Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd. As above, probably my favourite song.
