Good books for Networking with security

Hi

I am starting a degree course in sep 07 at TIC centre in Birmingham doing BSc networking with security and would like to know any good books that people reccomend. The tutors only recommend 1 book which is the Cisco CCNA parts 1 and 2 third edition but i would like to have a look through some others to get a solid understaning before i start. Does anyone have any ideas?

A book I used during my degree was Computer Networks by Andrew S. Tanenbaum.

Hope that helps, I now design, configure and maintain industrial network systems and I still have this book at work, needs updating now.
