My iPhone earphones broke so I need to get a new pair of in ears to listen to music when I'm out and about. Don't really want another official Apple set as I've only ever had problems with them. Can anyone recommend a decent pair of earphones for around £20

Ranging between £15 and £30

Dunu 12 Trident
Fidue A31
Xiaomi Pistons 2 or 3
Brainwavz Delta
Brainwavz M1
RHA MA350
Soundmagic E10
Philips SHE3590
Trinity Audio Hyperion

E10s are so overrated now. Everyone has been jumping on that bandwagon for 3-4 years. There are better, cheaper alternatives out there. The Xiaomi Pistons and the Fidue A31 are, for example, better options, as is the VSonic VSD1S. Dunu's range is also well worth looking into.

What kind of music do you listen to predominantly?

VSD1-S would be my choice then, or push the budget a little bit and grab the VSD3-S's - which is what Im using atm and without a doubt the best IEM I've heard under £100 :)

Reviews seem iffy but not that expensive to test so put an order in for the VSD3-S, now just got to wait for delivery.

Cheers :)

Trust me, you won't regret it. There is a thread in Sound City pretty much dedicated to them that you can read through :) I presume you ordered from LendMeUrEars? They are the only official stockist (and so the only place VSonic will honour warranties from).

The thread.
Some reviews: here, here, here and here.

You've not heard the Fidue A73's then? They are astonishing for £90 :D

I wish I had - I can't find them for £90, though. When I was looking at them in the past they were more like £110 and for that money I think it takes an awful lot to be the GR07s.

Definitely wanna hear them though, perhaps when my PhD grant comes in.

I got mine from here...

Hisoundfi's top 10 IEMs (quoted from "The Lab" thread on Head-fi)

#1 Fidue A73: It is a refined A83. A great combination of timbre, extension, detail, and balance. Sounds great with band genres and vocals. Probably the most sonically capable and impressive IEM I have.

#2 Fidue A83: The highest level of power and refinement in terms of sound. Probably the most entertaining IEM I have.

#3 Soundmagic E80: The most natural and organic sound signature of what I have. Great balance and timbre. Great "all around-er" in terms of SQ

#4 Dunu Titan: Best under the ear fit. Great price to performance ratio. Rich lower midrange and "shimmery" upper mids and treble make for a unique and quality listening experience.

#5 Sidy DGS100: A rare combination of warmth and detail. I really like the unique tuning. Listening to The Last Samurai soundtrack with these is probably the most enjoyable listening experience I've ever had.

#6 Sony H3: Great bass response, and separation of sound. Treble is tuned to my liking (maybe a hair shy but still excellent)

#7 VSONIC GR07BE: It's a hall of famer, and to this day still has some of the best bass I've ever heard. Still the best V-signature IEM there is from what I've heard.

#8 DUNU DN-1000: Hybrid tuning with forward bass and linear midrange and treble. One of my all time favorite hybrids for their versatility and ability to play every genre well.

#9 Zero Audio Duoza: Beautiful warm and articulate signature that is fatigue free and easy to listen to for hours.

#10 T-Peos Altone 200: Tight punchy bass and incredible details makes this a great listen.

High praise indeed coming from someone who owns both the A73 and the much more costly A83.

The VS3DS comes in at number 30, I just copy and pasted his top ten.

I would recommend VSONIC VSD3S as rids57 mentioned them. I own them and they are the best in earphones I ever owned. I have no complain about them the trouble just needs to be rolled off on some as some pairs have some sibilance levels that can be eliminated with eq most of them are around 7.5khz

JVC marshmallows £4.49 a pop in supermarkets pretty good actually for the price buy a few I find the cable goes on all earphones after a while.
Better off buying cheapos if lots of wear and tear and general knockabout earphones.

For a £20 budget, the Xiaomi Piston 3 is what I recommend. It's slightly better than the Piston 2 and can usually be found under £20 from UK/Euro sellers. It gets even cheaper if you buy direct from China/Singapore.

The GR07 Bass Edition will cost about £80 and you'll have to buy from Asian sellers for the best price. Although the GR02 BE offers good bass at around £30.

I bought the phillips they lasted about 2 weeks went on one side then the other side went the cable wear is dreadfully weak
