Have decided to take the plunge and recently bought an EK full waterblock to cover my 7950.

Was thinking of buying indivudual items but a kit with instructions could be very helpful so have been looking at the EK 360 kit thinking :-
1) Will come with instructions:)
2) Comes with three fans :( - I've already sourced 3 Apache fans.

but

Would I be correct in assuming that , when I'm ready , it could run both cpu and vga(full) blocks ; without altering pump/radiator?
First thought is to substitute the cpu block with my new vga block as the cpu cooler is already cooled via Corsair H60 - Anyone see any problems etc?

Do I need any other odds and sods to run this new vga loop? If I do please let me have your input.

If and ,when I add the cpu block I will ,I believe ,need additional piping and other items . I would appreciate advise as to what extras I would need.

2 further ?'s -
I have assumed that I would be better served by going for the 360 rather than the 240 kit. There is only a minimal price difference and either will fit my case (Corsair 800 D) - if I'm wrong please advise

Where should I place the pump - reservoir will be placed in roof and I could place it above (faffy!) ,level (bit faffy), just below , below or well below (bottom compartment alongside PSU) - thoughts and reasons appreciated.

In an 800d Id be tempted to go full custom, what budget do you have to spend on this?

3 120 up top and 1 240 down bottom would be super cool with a single cpu - gpu loop with a d5 pump

Pump always needs to be below the reservoir.

What I suggest you could do is checkout some 800D water cooling build logs/projects, so you can see what people have achieved and figure how far you want to go.

The 360mm rad should cool the CPU + GPU just about fine. Anymore and I'd be tempted to chuck another rad in there somewhere.

Thanks for the comments/advise so far:)

I do not want to spend more than £200 in addition to the cost of the gpu block.

Have decided that I will limit the 'new' loop to gpu cooling alone mainly because I think that trying to cool both cpu and gpu might stretch the cooling ability to its limit (or beyond) and if I leave cpu cooling until later I can defer the additional cost of additional rad + compression joints + tubing for a bit.

Overall I have now boiled it down to a choice of either :-

1. The EK package - only thing I would need to add being some clear tubing as I'm not keen on the included black.
Quick ? - I am assuming that the included EK-CSQ Fitting 16/10mm compression fitting will work just as well with the gpu block as the cpu block - or am I WRONG ?
2.XSPC Raystorm 360 package - £20 cheaper and a neater solution BUT barb fittings (I have read that compression are better) and will it work/will the barb fittings work with the EK7950 block (EK-FC7950 - Acetal) or am I creating problems?

Thoughts appreciated

Have decided to go with the XSPC Kit.

only ?'s to be answered now are :-

a) The kit comes with 6 barb fittings -G1/4" to 1/2" Barb (Black Chrome) but I will need 8 - unfortunately ocuk do not have any xspc of this type in stock so was looking to get 2 x EK 12mm (1/2") G1/4 High-Flow Barb Fitting as they are in stock.
Problem ?? or are they good to use ?(was thinking that I would use these with the ek gpu block and only concern was the fact that they are stated to be high flow when the xspc type do not have that title)
Am a little unsure so would def. appreciate advise:)

b) Been advised that Mayhems would be best coolant - Have been looking for blue but spoilt for choice ; can someone point me at a 'best buy' and advise as to quantity needed (I believe that a litre would be more than sufficient?)n.b I'm happy to dilute with distilled water

c) will I need to 'add' any inhibitor/anti fungal etc to the coolant - Again a 'best buy ' advise would be appreciated.

Would just mention the fact that sorting this is , to me, somewhat more stressful than buying a new gpu/ssd/cpu  I hope it's all worth it :D

My thanks for your patience and assistance :)

The EK barbed fittings will be fine. Fittings are a negligible restriction on your loop until you start adding about 50 of them! Just bear in mind with barbs, you might want to get clamps to make sure the hose is on there tight!

A litre will be fine. Mayhem's is good coolant but is fairly expensive; just don't go for the Aurora stuff as that contains micro particles that will eventually settle and can clog systems (unless you plan on changing coolant every few weeks!).

If you buy Mayhems, no need to buy separate inhibitor. It contains biocide already but if you went the pure distilled water route, you'll need something like PTNuke or a silver kill coil.

Do remember to flush all your components when you get them! Youtube videos on this :)

Thank you for the advise and re-assurance :)

I've now placed the order so if not before the weekend after this one coming will be busy.:D

Decided to go with the xspc kit + 2 ek barbs + Mayhems X1 - UV Blue Concentrate 250ml (thought it a good idea to get more than I thought I needed).

Will source distilled water (I'm thinking at least 5 litre so I can flush out with as well as using as the cooler) and small jubilee clips (or plastic equivalent) to secure barbs, locally.

This is exciting :D (or as my better half says 'Sad')
