Looking to get a new drive to stick the OS on (Win10 soon to be 11) as my SSD is getting pretty old now and has had some heavy use so I'll just use it for data storage. I am thinking M.2 this time but not sure what's the best, I see talk of ram and ramless. I was looking at the 250gb Samsung pro 980 one, is that a good option or are there better ones for similar money?

Zero sense to waste limited M.2 slots for tiny drives...
Unless you use only tiny software and handle only tiny amounts of data.
And for such low end use you don't need any super luxury price per GB drives...

The 980 Pro is about the best PCIe 4 NVME drive out there ATM, 250GB will be enough for the OS and around 4 games so personally I'd go with that.

I wouldn't bother with a drive under 1tb these days, the reason people went with small drives years ago was the price but now you can pick up 1tb for around 100 quid so makes so sense to go with anything smaller especially considering you have limited M.2 slots.

Thanks guys, I ended up going with the 980 pro 1tb. As the smaller ones are slower apparently and I can also use the ssds for other pcs and keep this one a lot neater. :)

You won't notice the "slower" speeds which are pretty damn fast to begin with vs a 980 Pro in normal day to day usage and gaming!
