Well the bank account has got the itch again! what is the general concensus on going from:

P8P67 Pro w/ i7 2600k @4.3
8gb Vengeance 2133mhz
gigabyte 480 SOC

to:

Asus Z77 Sabertooth and keep the cpu
keep the ram and add the other 8gb i have not yet installed
A yet to be determined 680
Alchemy cables for looks, and hopefully the new nvidia haf-x case depending on looks?

I take it your planning for an IB upgrade?

From the a SB 2600k, I doubt the upgrade will be notable. The Z77 will also give you the pcie3.0 but again, even with a 680 installed I'd be surprised if you'd notice any performance gain.

If you really have a bank account itch, why not look at an SSD?

rumour I heard somewhere is its getting re-released and improved

and already got an SSD, just going for a mainly cosmetic upgrade

A motherboars isn't cosmetic... the case is

Anyway... If you want to upgrade, you will be very dissapointed to spend all that money and notice "0" difference. Unless you have a good use for the old (new) kit?

What about triple monitors on a nice stand? proper 5.1 speakers? New peripherals?

Much better way to make you smile over a motherboard, things you will actually see and appreciate.
