Hi im new here just wanted to ask if i wanted to buy a good Digital Compatct with a good zoom an was willing to pay about 150-200 (possibly a bit more) for it what would you recommend. Also i want manual control with aperture and shutter speed etc as well which unfortunately rules out the Panasonic lumix range which i was originally looking at.

This is the problem with trying to choose a digital camera each has flaws and each has good points. If the Panasonic Lumix had some manual features id probably chose that, Though i am seriously considering the Canon SX200, as it seems decent enough. Also there arent many non SLRs that allow the lens to be kept open for longer than 8-15 seconds it seems, for night shots in manual mode.
