Hi,
I need a good cooler for a 775 Intel socket, im looking to overclock the cpu from 2.83ghz to 3.77. Don't really want to spend more than £20...which would be the best? And do they come with thermal paste?
Cheers

2.83ghz by the looks of it, my bad :)

I forgot about that one!!!

I haven't used one personally, but I have heard a lot of people talk about them, and it has all be good things I've heard...

At that price you can't really go wrong tbh....

I have doubts whether the Freezer 7 will take a Quaddie to 3.7Ghz, the Xigmatek would stand a better chance.

Spend about £2 on some decent thermal paste, OCZ Freeze and MX-2 are good, and the Xiggy heatsink is HDT (Heatpipe Direct Touch) so you need to use a lot of thermal paste compared to normal to cover all the gaps.

I dunno what to do now! Haha

If I get the freezer 7 its only gna cost me £17
If i get the Xiggy with thermal paste its gonna cost £26.50, bit of a difference :p

I was set on the freezer 7 but not sure now =|

Woah triple post!

3 pin connectors fit fine in 4-pin headers, you just loose the PWM speed control, that is all.

HDT is heatpipe direct touch and basically means the heatpipes merge into the base-plate and directly touch the IHS of the CPU.

It says PWM though? :S
"3-Pin (PWM)"

And ahhhh that makes more sense, to see the bottom of the cooler.
Another thing, in the pic for the Xigmatek, it doesnt seem to have the posts that clip into the MOBO, where as the Akasa version does...CLICK
They both seem pretty much identical specs so which out of those 2 would you go for?

Also, what do you think to this one? CLICK (Am thinking of this one because the price isnt too bad, the base is copper, thermal paste is pre applied, and it looks good ;)) haha

Sorry about the triple post btw haha :)

-Xigmatek (22.99 + £3.44 for paste= £26.43)
-Arctic Freezer (£17.99)
-Akasa AK-966 Blue Arora (£24.14)
