Good cooler...

What about cleaning the top of the CPU?? Have you got some Acetone or special cleaning fluid??

This is supposed to be some good stuff:

If you havn't or dont want to buy that stuff, steal wifes/girlfriends/mothers etc... nail polish remover it has a high content of acetone! Use a soft cloth to wipe the old gunk off the top of the cpu with the fluid and itl leave it residue free. Temps often get worse (strangely enough) if you dont do this.

i wouldnt worry about getting cleaning fluid ive used any type of wetwipe before and they work great just dry it off afterwards

get the Xiggy if i was you, you'll need the extra cooling on the quad and ive had the ac frezerpro7 before and although it was good it was crap after 2years soo noisy and barely worked as well as it used to

edit: Should clarify after two years of ragging the life out of the fan it was just about ready to fall to peices!

Lol!
Thanks for the input lads, i'll order the Xiggy on its own :p
Shame OcUK don't do the 'Red scorpion' version though, gives it a much nicer look in my opinion!

I'll use nail polish or some white spirit to get the old crap off :p, cus i do have the original intel cooler on it at the moment.
Thanks!

Cool.

I used Vodka to clean a chip today, worked like a charm and had the added bonus of giving me a drink after :p.

Ahahah sounds like a plan to me!
Don't think my gf would approve if she got back from work and I was upstairs, drunk, with her computer in pieces though :p
ahah!

Should arrive tomorrow
I love this free shipping business.
Their shipping prices used to put me off :(

Fan arrived today, wahey!
Looks like there's only a limited amount of thermal compound lol, it's in a little plastic packet... XD

Anyways, it says to just slide on the spoiler onto the radiating fin...
But when i do this, the spoiler is very loose and could literllay jst slide out with some vibration...
Surely it should secure itself somehow?

thanks for the input mate but ive already got the cooler now :p

Anyone know about this stupid fin on the cooler?
Is it really that necessary?
I know that if i put it on as instructed its jst gonna fall off and rattle around in my comp when I move it lol.
Would it affect performance if i left it off?
Cheers

Great cooler guys, thanks for the advice.
Took stock load temps down from 80 to 50.
Now have the cpu overclocked to 3.77ghz, at 1.35v, and max temps 70 Degrees.

Seems stable enough!

Only problem is the coolers a little big haha, haven't trouble gettin the side of the case on as it has a fan on the side :( i'll figure that out though haha
