Good ddr3 s775 mobos?

I have been looking around for a s775 mobo that uses ddr3 a lot since my asus striker ii extreme is dead, but the problem is there are none available any more... which lead to my question, do manufacturers still make high-end s775 mobos that uses ddr3 ram anymore, if they do why doesnt ocuk stock them?
 
Well it's an old socket now....and my advice is to sell your 775 stuff and go for a different setup, AM3,1156, or 1366.

Anyway to answer your question, for 775 the X48 boards were best for DDR3. P45 clocked better on average but X48 had a better memory controller.
 
The EP45T-UD3P was the best ocing mobo for 775 quads but the p45 chipset in general is not great for DDR3.
 
Like you I can't afford to leave S775 just yet so I recently bought the CPU,RAM and mobo in my sig for a total of £118.

If you have your heart set on sticking with S775 and assuming you already have a cpu, my advice would be to sell your DDR3 sticks and buy some used DDR2 and a cheap P45 mobo. You could probably do it for 80 odd quid, if you're prepared to buy at auction and selling your DDR3 would reduce your outlay further. In my eyes thats the only cost-effective way of staying with S775.

Otherwise, as gurusan said, you may as well sell up and go i3/i5 or AM3.

the thing is i have a q9550, i think a cheap mobo and ram doesnt do it justice...another problem is i have the old ddr3 ram that cant be used on i3/i5. but i dont see the point of selling them as they are high quaility corsair dominator.
 
100 on a 775 is just wrong though. I would really consider switching platforms, otherwise just get a good priced p45 board regardless of memory performance (ram performance doesn't make any real world difference on 775 anyway)
 
There is the MSI P43-C51 for £61 from a well known retailer. Also two other motherboards which are worth looking at are the Gigabyte GA-P43T-ES3G and Gigabyte EP43-UD3L for between £60 to £70.
 
I bought a used Intel DX38BT for £30. Superb board, clocks well and a decent featureset.

And x38 is the same physical chip as x48, just x48 are handpicked to be able to run a 1600MHz strap (not to say an x38 won't, its just not a BIOS selectable option as default).
 
You've got a Q9550. That's good for what, £100-£150 on the MM? If you're willing to spend £100 on a board then...

I have a P45 Platinum and that's a fantastic board and the Diamond is the next one up so it must be good.

I had a Q6600 in a P5E X38 and that could do 3.8Ghz. My DFI X48 does at least 520 fsb with a 45nm dual core but with the Q9550 it will struggle to get past 440 and even that needs serious voltage through the NB. The Q9550 does at least 3.6Ghz on stock volts which is quite frustrating. I will be swapping boards soon as i got a brand new Gigabyte P43-UD3L for £35 which has gone in my second pc. The MSI P45 Platinum from that will replace the DFI in my main rig and then i will be able to see how far i can push the Q9550.
