Hi Guys

Thinking of buying a MacBook. Argos currently have £100 off - http://www.argos.co.uk/product/7246018. With a further 10% off with a code flash10.

I can also get another 7.5% off with work so it brings it down to around £961. I'm not sure whether to wait for the John Lewis Black Friday deals.

Have a quick look at this recent thread.

I don't think a 128Gb SSD is big enough.

£961 is a good price.

Agree with Feek. Unless it's purely for browsing the web and editing a few documents (in which case just buy an iPad) then you want 256GB.

But I do think it's worth getting a Pro in the black Friday sale.

There's only 1 USB-C port on the Macbook, and the Pro is so lightweight you really don't need the ultra-thin standarad MB.

In the end I ordered the Pro as I've decided to sell my Dell Precision and go full Apple. Hopefully I won't regret it. Unfortunately there was a screw up with my Argos discount code through work so in the end I got it for £1191. Apple are currently selling it £1449 so around £258 off.

I'm hoping 8GB should be okay. I've read MacOS is pretty good with memory management.

Specs below: -

2.3GHz Processor
256GB Storage

  • 2.3GHz dual-core 7th-generation Intel Core i5 processor
  • Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz
  • 8GB 2133MHz LPDDR3 memory
  • 256GB SSD storage1
