Good driver vs Bad Driver

You need to get over it. Every time I use my bicycle I get questionable incidents like this happen. They are merely eyebrow raising and nothing more.

Damn, how cool do you look...

He looks far cooler than you dude

This is exactly why I made the response I did on the OPs first post. Bad driving exists everywhere, the OP is not special in encountering bad drivers so why does he feel the need to post videos of it?

Post them to YouTube and revel in the comments left on there if you have to, but please lets not clog up the Motors forum with this crap.

My first ever post as a cyclist in motors and I am clogging it up. Oh trolololol
What I do when I come across a post I'm not interested in, is not post in it, that way I don't get constant reminders of it in topic reply notification emails, then it falls off the page to be forgotten about.. Just saying ;)

You sound like a typical butthurt motorist who doesn't want to think about the actions you as a car driver can cause.

If an artic overtook you on country lane and caused you to alter your speed or course, I bet you be straight on here bleeding about it!

And before you go off on a rant about the being forced into the kerb video, I actually posted that in sports arena amongst the other cycling massif and it got MOVED to here. So shove that up your tail pipe :)

It's been a few years since I passed my test now, but when taught to drive I was always told to try and leave a cars width between myself and cyclists when overtaking

Anyone else taught this? :o

yup. the theory behind it is that if they fall off you don't murder them

I love cars - own a Cosworth and a Westfield so I like to drive fast obviously.

However I also own a very good mountain bike and a good road hybrid (Trek FX 7.5) with an electric hub conversion and commute 3 times a week - 10 miles each way.

Being an enthusiastic driver and an enthusiastic cyclist I see bad drivers and bad cyclists all the time - both are equally bad at disobeying the rules of the road.

Being an enthusiast of each mode of transport I hope makes me a better driver AND cyclist.

Cycles and cars are both a hobby and a means of transport to many on these forums - can't we all just get along and show some respect of each other?

If it teaches one motorist to overtake a bike in a safer fashion, then it's worth posting the video. Basically some people don't like cyclists so they don't like being lectured by them, either. It's a small man that won't be taught.

I'm with amigafan, I own fast cars (well ones fastish the other's broken) and also like to ride on a bike, I do regularly feel I'm battling against the evil wrath of car drivers and their inabilities; but if I take a step back I realise the same mistakes are there day in day out they are just magnified and more visible when on a push bike.

having been a motorcyclist and a pushbikist I think has increased my awareness but also taught me a good lesson on personal mortality. I drive a car to commute, I ride my bike to maintain fitness unfortunately mixing the two just creates a ticking time bomb of more than certain death :(

I'm fortunate where I live - there is a shared cycle/pedestrian/horse route from Fleetwood all the way to Starr Gate (11.5miles) so I'm only on the road about 2 miles of my 9 mile commute and they aren't high speed, narrow or busy roads.
