Good "end of the world/society" films

I'm sorry, but I find it highly strange that none of you knowledgeable people have mentioned the best film of the genre even once!

Dr. Strangelove!

The Omega Man, it's a bit like 28 days later, made in 1971 with Charlton Heston, despite being old it's pretty good really.

The Omega man is great and was based loosely on the book "I Am Legend". They are currently making a version of "I Am Legend". Im not sure how decent it will be since it has Will Smith in it. I suspect it wont really stick to the original story, much like "I, Robot" etc.

I know, I got all excited when I heard they were making the film, but when it turned out that Will Smith was the lead I nearly cried. Just hope they make a half decent attempt out of it.

I always liked the TV show the Last train. thats based in the UK and is about a bunch of people surviving after a big catastropy. doesnt show much about the end happening though. Very good though.
